Did you know there is a definite difference between a male and female? While there truly is!

 Male vs. Female

Does a male or a female make a better pet for you and your family?

It’s not uncommon for people to believe that a female dog will make a better pet. We get a lot of calls for people wanting that “special little girl”. For whatever reason they don’t think that females will exhibit “alpha” behaviors like hu***ng and/or marking. A lot of people think that females are more passive and friendly and that they don’t take part in fighting over dominance, which could NOT be farther from the truth. If you check out the structure of dog packs, the females determine the pecking order and rule the roost. The result of that behavior is that the females become more stubborn, independent, and territorial than the males. These females are much more intent on exercising their control by participating in that “alpha” behavior like hu***ng. Most fighting will usually break out between two females.

Males tend to be more affectionate, exuberant, attentive, and even more demanding of attention. The males are very attached to their owners, tending to be more dedicated, reliable and less temperamental. They are more sociable, more accepting of other pets, playful for years, and take quicker to children. Most boys are easily motivated by treats/food, words of praise and are so eager to please that training actually becomes easier. Their playful nature, however, can make males more easily distracted. The boys are more likely to act silly and more puppy-like, always wanting to play games, no matter what their age. The boys are fun-loving until the day they die, whereas girls tend to be more standoffish and dignified the older they get.

Neutered males rarely exhibit secondary sexual behavior such as marking and lifting their legs or hu***ng. Once the testosterone levels recede after neutering, most of these behaviors will disappear if they ever existed. Boys who were neutered early (by five months of age) usually don’t ever raise their leg to urinate.

So before making your decision on that age old dilemma of male verses female, hopefully this will give you some helpful info to think about.

To my human moms & dads, this is what happens to my paws when you take me out in the scorching sun ☀️ when the pavement is so hot !

Remember I sweat through my paws, so in this heat I can’t get rid of my sweat as my paws are burning. Missing my walk won’t harm me. Please let me just relax indoors and take me out when the sun is down🐾

If you see someone walking their dog on hot pavement, ask them to take off their shoes for the remainder of their walk home. Maybe then they'll understand.

I had the sweetest couple ever.... Come purchase one of my sweet, sweet lil Schnauzer puppies this last weekend...
Phillip and Felicia just fell head over heals for this sweet baby boy Brodie.... They even decided to leave his name Brodie that I had called him.... They had lost a lil sh*tzu puppy they had just recently purchased, so their hearts were broken without a fur baby.... They came to see a lil girl but then fell in love with Baby Brodie.... And he is such a beautiful lil boy.. He is a chocolate/tan phantom with 2 blue eyes.... And he's going to be a lil guy, he's toy size. So they were pleased over that...
Phillip kept telling me that I'd never find two people more crazy over lil dogs... And I truly believed him.... They were so cute with lil Brodie.... They text me soon after getting back home with him that he did excellent on the road home... And that he was so smart... They live a couple hours from me and Phillip told me a couple times that he didn't mind driving that far for the RIGHT PUPPY.... This couple was one of my favorite families that I've met through raising puppies.... I've met a lot of really nice people.... So Phillip and Felicia I wish you many sweet years with lil Brodie, thank you for loving my babies....

This is three of our matriarchs of Rhinestone Schnauzers..... Many of the babies I produce started with these three beautiful girls here.... Left to right is Pixie, Laney and Harper..... These are three beautiful lil ladies..... They are the backbone of Rhinestone Schnauzers..... They each have produced some beautiful babies, grandbabies and now great grandbabies..... They each were wonderful mothers..... They no longer produce precious lil one's, they are merely guardians of our pack..... They keep everyone lined out, and heading on the straight and narrow..... They will reside forever here at Rhinestone Ranch..... They have all aged beautifully..... All though Laney has started having an issue with her lil eyes..... The other two girls still hop and skip right along... You'd never know their the older ones of the pack..... They never make much fuss, you'd never know they were around.....They spend most of their days laying around on a fluffy bed snoozing..... These three are loved deeply.... I just can't imagine them not being around..... Their special lil ladies, and they know it.....

This is my sweet baby boy out of a couple litters back that I kept. His name is SLADE... He is a blue merle color. And absolutely the sweetest lil boy ever... Anyone considering a new puppy. I'm here to tell you I'm very partial to the lil boys... They generally are soooo sweet and loving... Just total snuggle bugs... They just can't get close enough to you... I think lil boys make WONDERFUL companion pets... So don't be afraid of considering a lil boy as a loving pet. And if their neutered before 6 months most the time you will never have any problems hiking their leg...
