Lexie in Leawood, KS
Lexie is a sweet Blenheim girl looking for her forever home. She originally came from a commercial breeder, then given to Cavalier Rescue USA by a kind Good Samaritan. At first, Lexie was a bit shy with her new situation, though she is starting to relax more. She likes to be near her foster parents, and she enjoys the company of her Cavalier foster sister.
She was not housebroken when she came into Rescue, but she is making progress. She now understands “outside” and races her foster sister to the door. She will need a positive and loving family to continue potty training efforts and keep her on a regular schedule.
Her foster parents have been working with Lexie on leash, but not much progress so far. She will drag it all over the yard and house but usually freezes if you pick up the leash. This will take time and patience, but we are confident that she will eventually learn.
Lexie has grade 3 luxating patella, and she will eventually need surgery to repair her left knee. Currently, it doesn’t seem to bother her as she runs and plays in the yard at full speed, and her foster parents have not seen her favor it. Lexie’s vet reports her heart is healthy and clear of murmur.
