Today marks the first day EID tags are required to be put into all breeding stock. As you are getting ready to bangs vaccinate your heifers this year it may look a little different. Instead of metal clips you will see buttons being put in. As a producer this does not change anything for you. We will still be vaccinating your animals the same as before but the EID tag will give you and future buyers a better knowledge in case of an outbreak. Why is it important to spay or neuter your pets?
As your pet grows from puppy/kitten into adulthood instinct starts to kick in for intact pets. You may notice pets roaming more often to find other intact animals of the same species. Pets can become more aggressive towards people or other pets to assert their dominance. Keeping pets intact can also increase their risk for cancer.

With the holiday weekend quickly approaching, we just want to remind our pet owners to keep a watchful eye on their fur babies.
There are many ways to keep your pet safe when out in the heat and sun. Be watchful of signs of over heating. Giving your pet the option of somewhere cool and having fresh water available is very important.
Do your best to keep them away from things they can not digest. Things like small toys, human foods, and toxic chemicals.
Most importantly, if you know your pet does not do well with fireworks or thunderstorms. Do your best to keep them indoors in a quiet part of your home. If you believe your pet still won't do well even inside your home. Please call us today so we can have a conversation about some meds to help calm your pet and keep them safe!
