Haines as a riding camp for her children and their friends. Since then, the camp has grown into a comprehensive riding facility and general activities camp while maintaining the family oriented feel that provides each camper with individual attention. Our summer camp provides girls from 8-16 years old with a safe place to learn to ride, improve riding skills, take on the responsibility of horse ca

re, improve their horsemanship skills, and have fun while learning to be active, caring members of the camp community. The Camp runs for nine weeks, in 1-, 2-, and 3-week sessions. For girls who would like to devote more of their summer to camp, we have the option of combining sessions for a longer stay. Only 48 riders are accepted each week. While at SJ, campers ride twice a day with time for other activities such as horse management and care, arts & crafts, theater games, archery, boating, swimming, tennis, basketball, and field games. Some of SJ's most loved activities include swimming with the horses, supper rides, the Banquet, horse shows, watching their instructors in a lesson, and the last night of each session campfire. Love horses and other animals but not ready to ride? Join our Farm Camp! Available the same dates and times as the riding program. While riders head to the horses twice a day the Farm Crew go to the mini farm to learn about and care for chickens, goats, rabbits, and yes, horses! Day Camp options available during some weeks - call today! SJ Riding Camp is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) and our riding instructors are certified by the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA). Our staff and campers come from throughout the US and the world and with varied backgrounds. Everyone at SJ values diversity and openness to new opportunities. Momo is still looking for his winter home!

He is a bay 6 year old 15 hand OTTB gelding. He does best with flat work and an intermediate rider. He can get forward but is easy to bring back. He can go on trails but is new to them so not for a beginner. He LOVES people and to be groomed. Gets along with other horses. Good for the vet & farrier, loads to trailer well. Momo has minimal maintance and can live out or in a stall.

SJ Horse of the Month for September 🐴

Thank you to everyone who voted! The horse with the most votes was our beloved Aspen! Aspen is a camp favorite… she loves her time in the ring, XC course, and even on the trails! This past summer Aspen even got to try her hoof at swimming, and she definitely enjoyed it! This winter she is being spoiled by one of our campers, Amelia! For Lease: Gigi, 7 y/o 15.3H OTTB bay mare - Are you looking for a project horse with lots of potential? Gigi is a beautiful mover with a willing brain. She has had some time off this past winter to relax and was started back in work over the summer. She is moving great at the walk and trot and is starting to gain more confidence and balance at the canter and over small fences. She does require and advanced, quiet rider. Gigi is a very easy keeper. She has lived out with multiple other horses, is currently barefoot, and doesn't need a lot to keep on weight. She is available through our winter lease program.
