Little known fact, "More pets get lost on 7/4 than any other day of the year." Make sure your pup is microchipped. The noise can cause panic attacks that send them running. If you are at all concerned, let your pup sleep over with us that night where they wont have to worry about the noise.

With the upcoming 4th of July holiday, there are many factors that make dogs and cats very anxious.

💊Some pets need the help of prescription medication to ease the stress of fireworks

🧨Firework explosions are loud and very frightening to our companions. Please keep pets secure and in a quiet place during the festivities.

🌭Gatherings are fun for humans but can pose challenges for pets - make sure to keep alcohol and table scraps out of pets reach.

☀️It can get very hot outside and the festivities can be distracting, make sure your pet has plenty of water and shade to keep cool.

🎇Is your pet microchipped? More pets get lost on 7/4 than any other day of the year. If your pet is microchipped, please verify that you have the most up to date contact information registered.

If you are concerned for your pet with the upcoming holiday, please call this week for refills or requests. In order to have the medications in time for the fireworks, we would advise calling in all refills by June 29th to guarantee you have them in time for the 4th! 🐾

Win this awesome dog themed quilt and support wounded veterans! Lisa Rickmeyer is one of our dedicated long time dog moms and was kind enough to hand make this dog themed quilt for us to auction. You may remember she did this last year and we were able to raise almost $700 and 100% of the proceeds go to the Dogtopia Foundation which supports wounded veterans by training and gifting them service dogs. Every $6000 we raise we sponsor a service dog 🐕‍🦺 and so far Ellisville has sponsored four from your donations.
