Danny came in today for his Lyme vaccine booster. He’s not messing around with ticks, he’s staying protected.

Even though we are starting to get into our colder months, doesn’t mean you should stop worrying about fleas and ticks. Keeping your pet on prevention year round and getting the Lyme vaccine are the best ways to keep your pet protected.

The highest risk of getting bit by adult ticks are in the spring and fall. And despite our upcoming colder temps, adult ticks are still active when the temperature is in the low 30’s.

The CDC has backpedaled on the requirements to import dogs from a low risk rabies country into the US.

Please see the website for the most up to date information as it is changing rapidly without much warning.

At this time if your pet is from the US and is US vaccinated, it must have the following:
1. A microchip
2. Be 6 months or older
3. Have a current rabies vaccine certificate
4. Have an import form (this must be filled out by you as an owner)

4th of July is this week. Make sure you’ve got everything your pet needs to get through the holiday. Call early in the week if you need meds for fireworks or refills as we typically need 24-48 hrs to refill meds. We will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day.
