What a busy couple of months out here...my thanks to all the folks who have dropped off horses for various needs from ranch sorting, legging up, behavior issues, and for just giving a few horses a job to do each day. Keeping a barn full of horses can be a challenging thing to do in today's world and I'm thankful for all the trust people put in me to care for and work with their horses.

Want to welcome 2 new horses to the barn.

Lady is a sorrel grade mare who has completed her initial assessment. Right now, Mother Nature is in control and we are working to help this mare think, rather than react. Long term, we hope to introduce her to cattle but we have some milestones to reach before we are able to do that.

Kahlisee is a nice buckskin grade mare who is ready for some advanced training on cattle. We’re working hard to develop a solid stop and working off our body and legs. To start, like a lot of horses, she’s gets real excited about working a cow. It’s important to keep that excitement in her, we can’t “train” it all out of her but we need to slow her down enough so she can help us in the show arena or out in an open pasture working cattle. Great start for this mare!

Congratulations to Laura Sellers and Matt Miller for winning our inaugural Ranch Sorting series at Blueberry Creek Stables in association with ThreeSixty Horsemanship.

Laura and Matt will both be able to order a customized buckle from Mollys Custom Silver!

Our sincerest thanks to all riders who rode in this series. We ended up averaging 16 riders per show and were also able to introduce the sport to 8 new riders through our clinic offering. ThreeSixty Horsemanship hauls in the show, including panels, equipment, and cattle, and Blueberry Creek provides a nice covered arena. Together, we were able to pay out over $5000 to our riders!

We'll return for more Ranch Soring at Blueberry Creek soon so keep looking for more information!

Full-week introductions to Ranch Sorting are available for beginner/rookie riders. Had a guest from Colorado and another from South Texas reserve 5 hours per day. We typically practice in two separate sessions with a break in the middle and lunch in the afternoon.

We also have more advanced sessions available where we work a lot on scenario based situations we typically see in Ranch Sorting.

All practices are recorded and we also simulate show day with our sound system and timers.

Blueberry Creek StablesRound Robin High Point Update

Our thanks to all the riders who came out in some chilly weather to ride in our first show of this buckle series. We had 91 teams and paid out over $1400 to our top finishers.

Congratulations to James Overpeck for taking how our top spot! James had a 94 head cow count, beating out our runner up, Jennifer Overpeck, who had 85 head.

As a reminder, we have combined our round robin for all riders but will separate all the beginner riders for points (see below for the most up to date points)

Next round robin will be held March 9th at Blueberry Creek Stables. We currently have a waiting list for the March 10th clinic so contact us as soon as you can. We may open up additional spots.
