As we observe Memorial Day this year, we first and foremost honor the servicemen and servicewomen who paid the ultimate sacrifice in preserving our country and our freedoms. After an unprecedented past 15 months, we are keenly aware of how fortunate we truly are that so many laid down their lives to defend our Union. Many of us, myself included, have longed to gather with friends and family and are celebrating that our communities are finally opening. A return to some normalcy finally seems right around the corner. It strikes me on this solemn Day of remembrance that we are so fortunate to have these blessings of life and liberty to long for - that so many throughout the world cannot even imagine. They are not guaranteed but earned through service and sacrifice.

Visitors and guests: The bridge on Emroy that goes over 290 when driving North from North Ave. is closed for construction which makes it hard to get to Elm Lawn Pet Cemetery and Crematorium. Please turn onto Lake St. just east of 294 and go west or cut through the neighborhood off of York and go east. Apologies for any inconvenience this construction may cause you.
