We just got a lovely update on Mae/Maisel (fka Bessie), adopted in October 2021:
"I thought you might like an update on how Maisel (we really just call her Mae) is doing. She has made herself completely at home and is quite spoiled. 😂 She is very easy going, and loves all people and is very good with other dogs she meets. My husband shares a banana with her every morning, and it’s her favorite treat in the world. She runs inside after going to the bathroom, and pretty much leaps onto the sofa and into his lap in anticipation. She is also a girl after my own heart and loves to go to bed early. She uses her face to hit my arm to ask to go outside, and then runs as fast as she can upstairs to jump into her bed. That’s usually around 8:00 😀

She has had some pretty serious health issues, though. In November 2022 she had to have a huge lump removed from her neck. She had an infected salivary gland with lesions on it. She had to have a drainage tube for a week attached to a T-shirt which she wore like a human. She never gave us any problems and was the best patient ever.

In February this year she had to have a lump removed from her front paw. They also amputated her entire outside toe to be careful they got all bad cells. I was concerned that was overkill, and when the biopsy came back cancer I was shocked. They are confident they got it all, and she has recovered well. Her new nickname is Three-Toed Sloth, lol.

Although it’s been costly, she is worth every penny. (We now have pet insurance 😅) She is pretty much the perfect dog for us. Thank you again for all you do to save these animals! -Kris

Socializing sweet foster boy Ricky today Brewpoint Craft ElmhurstBrewpoint Coffee in elmhurst today. We love Brewpoint ! I was one of their very first customers at their 1st location about 10 years ago and have introduced the coffee shop to many people. Love that they are welcoming of dogs outside! I bring my own dogs there all the time. Thank you Brewpoint!

Tucker is a very sweet 1-2 yr old boy who is still looking for his forever family. He absolutely loves other dogs and will even give them kisses. He can be very chill, but also silly and playful. Thank you cards written to donors to veterinary expenses for the Fleetwoof Pack puppies' parvo treatment, and Ashton's knee surgery. Bountiful thanks to all of you kind and generous Friends.

Our beautiful boy Ashton had a chronic limp, caused by a Grade 4 luxating patella. Monday, he underwent corrective surgery, and is now recovering at his foster home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, especially Kate and all those who donated toward his vet bills. Now let's get this beautiful sweet boy adopted!

The Fleetwoof Pack pups are well On The Road- to Recovery! No more vomiting, poops solid, and appetites and energy are good. No more IV fluids, syringe feedings, or multiple meds. Only Vie needed to be hospitalized, while Stevie and Mick were cared for at home by their amazingly dedicated foster moms (and their families), who spent Thanksgiving week providing intensive care to these babies.

MANY THANKS to all of you who donated toward their veterinary care. Any surplus donation funds will be used for Ashton's orthopedic surgery - please stay tuned for more details on that.
