ā€œIf your dog or cat has kittens or puppies and you didnā€™t ask for help to prevent it, YOU ARE THE PROBLEMā€. Read that again.

There are not enough good homes that are not already full of pets. There are not enough good homes that can afford spay/neuter and a lifetime of vet care and supplies. The only way to slow this crisis is for you to get all of your animals altered. If your dog or cat has puppies or kittens and you didnā€™t ask for help to prevent it, you are the problem. Aggressive spay/neuter is the only way out. Ask for the help you need. There are plenty of groups and individuals that will try to help, not just us.

SO. MANY. DOGS.
We have more dogs in our care now than ever before. Those pictured are at the sanctuary (all available for adoption except our lifer Peanut), with a few more in foster care. Some have pending applications, but if interested, please fill one out on our website.

In addition, we have many more dogs on our wait list to come in. We can't stress enough the extreme dog population CRISIS our country and local area is facing. Rescues/shelters in surrounding counties are closing intake or closing their doors for good due to lack of funds and not being able to keep up with the demand. We've never seen anything like this in this organization's 24 years of existence.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- ADOPT (don't shop), volunteer, foster, donate, advocate, educate
- AVOID ADDING TO THE CRISIS: Spay/neuter, train/seek training for your dogs, license & microchip them, and make sure you can care for a dog before getting one, including being able to secure dog-friendly housing for its lifetime. Please reconsider before rehoming if for a reason such as "not enough time." In most situations, your dog is FINE at home all day by itself. Most dog owners work full time jobs. Your dog would much rather be alone in the home they know than at a noisy, stressful shelter waiting months to be adopted. If rehoming isn't avoidable, check vet and personal references and do a home visit. So many dogs are rehomed by the owner, only to end up as strays or surrendered to us soon after.

Thank you to those who help us help dogs in need. We can't do this without you!
