Spring is here, and so are fleas and ticks! ๐ฆ๐ท๏ธ These pesky parasites can cause discomfort, skin issues, and even transmit diseases to your beloved dogs. Bark Knight K9 wants to remind you of some key safety tips:
Prevention is key! Talk to your vet about the best flea and tick preventative for your dog (oral, topical, or collar).
Check your dog regularly: After walks, especially in wooded or grassy areas, thoroughly check your dog's fur for ticks. Pay close attention to ears, between toes, and under the tail.
Keep your yard tidy: Mow your lawn regularly, clear leaf litter, and trim bushes to reduce flea and tick habitats.
Recognize the signs: Excessive scratching, licking, or biting can indicate a flea or tick problem.
Treat your home: If you find fleas or ticks on your dog, you'll likely need to treat your home environment as well.
