Our adoptable pets will be looking for forever homes before the holidays, and we will be selling pet supplies and crafts to raise funds for vet expenses.

Where are my transport volunteers? We need a pup brought from Waggaman to Golden Meadow, and supplies brought from New Orleans to Denham Springs.

Where are my event volunteers? We’ve got concurrent events this weekend 10-4 Saturday at Petsmart in Elmwood and VFW in Harahan, as well as 10-4 Sunday at VFW.

Taffy was found tied up on an island past Venetian Isles right before Hurricane Francine hit.

She needs a foster to keep her until she’s adopted. She’s a sweet girl, still very much a puppy, she has lots of zoomies. All medical costs covered.

Our adoptable of the day is Zelda. We can’t say enough good things about this girl. She gets along with every dog and cat she’s met. She is house-trained and kennel-trained. She rides like a champ in the car. She gets the zoomies but not for long, and literally just wants to be your best friend. She likes to give hugs and look into your eyes with those sweet golden soulful eyes. She let us dress her as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween, and didn’t even fuss about the wig!

Mya and Niko just heard the news…. you’re considering bringing them home for the holidays! Certainly their perfect home has to be out there! A home with no pets who wants to add two goofy bundles of joy! They are housetrained, kennel trained, great with kids from 12 to 112!

Edit: Thank you so much for your help everybody. We were able to cover yesterday’s vet appointments. We are humbled and incredibly grateful for the support.

We rescued 10 dogs this week. Not a single dollar for our $5 friday. We can’t keep this up. Anybody want a pet rescue? Free?

We have had a busy week of moving and shaking!
We were able to save these babies:

Cassidy
Kevin
Macgyver
Fiona
Dottie
Five puppies found under a house

This morning Ezra and Kevin went to the vet to get neuter, microchips, vaccines, and hopefully proheart shots if we can afford them. The shots are $80 each. The total for all of it will be $560.

We need to place our flea/heartworm prevention order to get them in time for December, and it generally runs about $600.

So happy $5 Friday, feel free to celebrate by shooting some well-wishes, a merry farewell to two very fine sets of testicles, and some cash if you can spare it. Anything helps! They’re at Batt Veterinary Services
