We secure safe, loving homes through a comprehensive adoption program, and also provide lifetime sanctuary for Goldens that cannot be adopted. Our adoption hours are listed for pre-approved adopters. Please call ahead to schedule

ADOPTED-Eddie is a male Golden Retriever. He is 2.5 years old. He lived with cats and is accepting of dogs. He lived with a five year old child but would in prefer older kids such as 10 plus.

ADOPTED-McDuff is a 2 year old Golden mix and look how great he does with this six year old volunteer!!! He is good with dogs and we don’t know about cats. He would love to be pet all day. Available now. His brother is also available - Falstaff.

Magic is a female Golden mix at four years old. She LOVES to swim so someone with a pool or a water person would be great. She needs to decompress so a quieter environment would be nice. No dogs or cats for Magic and kids should be older such as teenagers. Fill out an application the Homeward Bound website or if already approved call 916-343-4275 for an appointment.

ADOPTED-Falstaff is a two year old Golden Mix and some call him a Goldendoodle. He also has a brother here named McDuff. Good with dogs and kids 10 plus would be dandy. Fun dog! Fill out an application at homewardboundgoldens.org. He is ready to go home and so is his brother McDuff!

A shout out to Megan McCarthy of Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Park Place for donating her time to groom (shear!) one of our most challenging matted dogs ever! Bailey came to us from the Central Valley. On first look, she seemed downy soft. But her coat was so matted and pelted, it was nearly impossible for us to even get through it to vaccinate! We got her started, but Megan came to complete the job, and guess what…there’s a dog under there!! Thank you, Megan…Bailey is going to feel SO much better now.
PS…Bailey's not yet available but we’re working on it!

Update- River was adopted and Rocky needs an adopter with another dog.

Rocky (red color) and River (light color) are both 2 years old and came over from China. Rocky is blind. They can be adopted together or separately if you have another dog as Rocky needs a dog to help him. They love to have fun and are available now!!
