Margo (AL) Penke is a Lifetime member of two retriever clubs: The Duluth Retriever Club & the Minnesota Iron Range Retriever Club. We are honored to be included in several articles featuring Joe DeLoia (1956 NFC Massie's Sassy Boots). Continuing Mr. Joe DeLoia's legacy with the Labrador Retriever. We encourage the sport of the working retriever, as much as possible. We live close to the Canadian b

order in a lovely tourist town called Ely, Minnesota located on the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). We love our Lord, our family, our dogs and our community. A favorite quote of mine is from Joe DeLoia: "No man is self-made."

BWLabs Accolade: My dog "Stitch" was bred to the current 2024 National Winner (Dog #82 2024 NFC-NFTCH Truline's Just Floyd) in 2020 when we responsibly re-homed her out West, it was a type of a line breeding. I knew Tellus Calhoun would take extra good care of Jolor's Sophia for me! ❤️🐾❤️. Congratulations to Amie Henninger & "Floyd" on their marvelous accomplishment!!! Floyd & Stitch produced a Senior Hunter named Howie's Flying Achilles SH and Wind River's Ms Charles Floyd. (Also see thread comments)

Happy National Puppy Day

Our pups have been trained for and performed in AKC Field Trials, AKC Hunting Tests, Agility, Obedience, Conformation, Hunting Dogs, Dock Dogs, Household Pets, Professional Models & last but not least, Service Dogs & Therapy Dogs. Most of our Labrador Retriever Puppies have been placed into Good Gun Dog homes with great families. Our pups secondly have been run in hunting tests (HT) and dock jumping. So far, they have entered just a few FT's etc... This album was created with pictures sent to us by the owners of our puppies. Boundary Waters Labradors was established in 1999 by AL Penke, and his wife Hobby AKC Breeder of Merit Margo E. Penke. (FYI Notation: Oh for goodness sakes....this album is very incomplete...when it comes to puppy testimonies/accolades we have oodles & oodles more than this! Many just entered on our timeline or on our personal fb pages. I encourage folks to help refresh my mind by re-sending those photos & stories, I will try to do better to enter them here! Maybe Marley could help me!)
