Ingredients:

1/2 cup heavy cream (at least 36% milkfat) - The higher the fat content, the better the whipping ability.
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but adds a nice flavor)
Instructions:

Chill the heavy cream: Place the heavy cream in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before whipping. Cold cream whips up better and holds its shape longer.

Whip the cream: Using an electric mixer (a hand mixer works best), beat the heavy cream on medium speed. Start slowly and gradually increase the speed. You'll notice the cream start to thicken.

Add vanilla (optional): Once the cream has thickened slightly, add the vanilla extract.

Continue whipping: Continue whipping until stiff peaks form. This means that when you lift the beaters out, the cream holds its shape in stiff peaks. Be careful not to overwhip; this can cause the cream to become grainy.

Serve immediately: Serve the whipped cream immediately to your dog in a small, dog-safe bowl. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator, but use it within a day or two.

Important Note: Even though this is dog-safe, remember that whipped cream is a high-fat treat and should only be given in small quantities as an occasional indulgence. Monitor your dog for any signs of digestive upset after consuming it.

Thanksgiving is a special time for family, but for pet owners, it can be a bit stressful. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring our furry friends stay safe by not eating foods that could be harmful to them. It's not just about keeping an eye on our pets, but also making sure our loved ones understand the importance of not sharing dangerous foods with them—even when they mean well.

We know that Grandma and Grandpa adore their grand-dog, and to show their appreciation this Thanksgiving, here are some safe ways they can pamper the pup:

Offer Healthy Dog Treats: Buy or make some special dog-friendly treats. There are plenty of recipes online that use ingredients safe for dogs.

Quality Time: Spend time playing or taking a walk to make your dog feel loved and included.

Special Toys: Gift your dog a new toy to keep them entertained while the humans enjoy their meal.

Dog-Friendly Foods: If they insist on sharing 'people food', safe options include small amounts of cooked turkey (without skin or seasoning), plain mashed sweet potatoes, or steamed green beans.
