ISO: year lease on long stirrup horse for tall junior

Looking for a horse to take kid from beginner ring to long stirrup later on in the year. Rider is 5’10 so needs to be over 16hh with bigger barrel. Lead change and QUIET. The more of a kick ride, the better. Older with maintenance is fine, nothing green. Horse will be in professional program and shown 1x per month at the locals. Would also consider lease to purchase on something that could do the 2’6 job. Looking to keep search local for now so in the GA, SC, TN area, could also make a trip to Ocala if we can line up a few to see. We are located in Emerson Ga.

One critical truth about training horses is that on no given day is it possible to make much progress, but on any given day it is possible to set a horse substantially back, and, worst case, even possible to destroy a horse.

Improvement is as slow as watching grass grow, but one temper tantrum, one hard gallop, one big over-jumping session can scare or hurt the best trained horse.

Slow to make a well trained horse, but fast as a lightning bolt to ruin one. And after that has happened, no amount of regret can change it.

Watch grass grow, Nothing visible happens, Same with the daily, weekly horse schooling. It’s happening, but too gradually to see. But in keeping with the grass analogy, all that growth can be mown down in one instant.

No temper, no drama, much safer. Temper can be as lethal as a scythe blade.

Both girls worked super hard this season and we are so proud of how both girls and the rest of the Blue Skies IEA team have done! Huge thank you to Dane Tree Service in Acworth for donating their services and taking care of two large trees we were not able cut up ourselves. They chopped and stacked each tree in a pile for us to burn and left the space immaculate! This company also sells fantastic firewood for anyone looking.

💫”Calamity” and Avery Usrey were Champion in the .80s

💫”Mr. President” rode to a 5th place finish in the Eq Challenge with Addy Carter and had great trips in the Modified Hunters

💫”Vintage Prado” and Mary Angeli finished Champion of the .75s

💫”Home Alone” and Mackenzie Miller finished Champion and Reserve Champion in the Mini Hunter

💫”Silver Bullet Day” and Alexis Mannia had lovely rounds in the PreChild Eq and Hunters

💫”Wyndham Hills Tyfi Lloyd” and Haizle Jones were Champion in groundrails and Reserve Champion in Crossrails

💫”The Black Pearl” lived up to her tri-color reputation once again Reserve Champion in the Mini Hunter with Sadie Klewein, Reserve Champion in the groundrails with Brynn Carter and 1st in the pony medal both weekends with Mary Angeli, qualifying her for finals

💫”Cheeky Monkey” and Brielle Kruetz had a successful move up to the Mini Hunter

💫”Glamour Kills” and Ava Amico rode to Reserve Champion in the Groundrails at Ava’s first show

💫”Spicy Legs” had great trips in the Silver Stirrup with Abbey Morrow and wonderful rounds in the TB Hunters

It was a great 2 weekends spent with our barn family. We are so proud of the girls not only for their performance in the ring, but for the dedication to their horse’s care outside of the ring, supporting each other, and always maintaining a positive attitude. Thank you Cheryl & Co. Horse Shows for a wonderful season closer! We look forward to next season showing with The Co!😆

UPDATE: Great news! Our well pump has been replaced and we have clean fresh water again at Blue Skies! Thank you so much to everybody who contributed, from the bottom of our hearts. We have raised nearly $3000 in the first 24 hours of our fundraiser.
