Très Chien is a mobile dog walking service in the East Bay that focuses on training and behavioral modification. We work with dogs that are reactive or challenging for solo walks and small group pack walks, using positive training methods to modify problem behaviors. All of our walking is done on leash. We also offer consulting services for individuals looking to adopt a dog, to help you find the

After a couple of years of not taking new clients….. we actually have 3-4 spots available for new daycare clients and we are also opening some availability for new boarding clients. I haven’t been particularly active on social media for a while because I have a hard time getting people excited about my program only to tell them “but I don’t know when we will be taking new clients again in the future.” My daycare program is leash walking based and training focused. We also have a lovely shaded, turf play yard and supervised playgroups so that our attendees get a full day of activities that work their bodies and their minds adequately. Please reach out if you are looking for care for your pups! We are now located off the park blvd exit on 580 in 🖤

Just a heads up to my clients and dog friends: This week Victor dog food has been recalled due to salmonella contamination, as well as two other smaller brands.

Three dog food brands recalled products in October due to salmonella contamination. Both dry and log type food is affected.

"The results suggested that … g***d retention during the first 24 months of life—are strongly associated with lifelong avoidance of bilateral CCL rupture…Risk for CCL rupture was not influenced when g***d removal took place after the 24-month developmental period."

CCL injuries are one of the most common causes of pain and arthritis in dogs. Today at 12pm ET we're discussing how to prevent injury and available CCL treatment options.

We’ve had her for a bit now, but welcome our foster pup Honey! She LOVES other dogs and doesn’t know a canine stranger. She is a little timid with humans, so we are working to build her confidence there. She’s crate trained, potty trained, spayed and up to date on all her shots. I’m in the process of building her confidence out in the world and prepping her for off leash hiking. She would make an excellent second dog for a home with a dog young enough to enjoy playing and wrestling. By the time I’m done with her, she will be a go anywhere, do anything companion for her forever human.

I get a lot of training inquiries from concerned owners of dogs in this age range because their very social dog has seemed much less tolerant of other dogs. This is actually a fairly common occurrence as a dog reaches maturity. While there are many things that can be done to support your dog’s ongoing success in social interactions, it is important to honor their ever changing needs as they age.

Our dogs go through various stages of physical and social development through their lives. From the adorable days of puppyhood, to the gangly and uncoordinated time as a juvenile, to the unruly adolescent phase that has you questioning your decision to own a dog in the first place. We could talk abo...

I love this dog so, so much. , at over 11 years old, still loves toys and plays like a puppy daily with the young dogs in my pack. He is always the most excited when I bring a new puppy onto the pack and has been the best, most patient big brother to SO many foster puppies in the (almost) decade that he has called me his. I still can’t believe he was facing euthanasia at OAS, and I will forever be grateful for the police officer and client who initially fostered him to save his life and puppy Zed for adopting him.

Please join me in welcoming Boots to the pack! Boots is an enormous 4 month old puppy who found himself in a hard series of circumstances at the beginning of his short life. He was lucky enough to find himself in the foster care of a dear friend, schoolteacher and burlesque clown. Now that she is back to teaching school full time, little Boots needed some care during the day, where he could learn the ropes of being an upstanding puppy citizen, burn off his excess energy and socialize with balanced dogs of all ages. We are excited to help him on his journey to being a dog of the world and polishing this diamond in the ruff for his forever home.

Please join me in welcoming our newest pack member, Maya. Maya is exactly the kind of dog that inspired me to create my program. She is a young rescue dog who started displaying some concerning reactivity and anxiety behaviors as she matures into her adolescence. Her parents need daytime care and occasional boarding, but larger dog daycares and off leash hike programs just aren’t places where she will have overwhelming success. Here, we will go slow and he’ll her through various experiences every day that give her an opportunity to learn and believe that the world isn’t a scary place, new rings aren’t threats and that her human handler will help her navigate this big, busy world and keep her safe. 🖤 She has a hunk of an older brother, Sultan, who I’ll introduce soon!

Some super cute pack lounging photos from the past couple of days. My crew has been so gentle and understanding of how weak I am right now. I tire very easily and while I’m tolerating solid food, my appetite is poor and I can only manage a few bites before my body is done again. I’m resuming a low-key version of my walking schedule tomorrow. Keep me in your thoughts as I slowly regain my vibrancy and get back into the full swing again.

I’ve been admitted at the hospital since Tuesday. I get to go home today, finally. My GI system became very painful and shut down. I was having some very concerning symptoms. We still aren’t 100% sure exactly what caused this decompensation, but I’m doing better now and I have tolerated solid foods, so I get to go home 🎉🎉🎈🎊🥳🎁🍾 I want to thank all my clients for being so understanding of this emergency gap in services and the general disconnect in communication for the first couple of days. I was heavily sedated and unable to even comprehend what the nurses were saying to me. I have some studies coming up that will help further pinpoint what happened. There is a suspicion of a hiatal hernia caused by the trauma from a fall I had a little over a week ago. There are also some irregularities in my bile ducts that have been present since a previous scan in 2018. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it is doesn’t happen again anytime soon. I may have to do some fund raising as I couldn’t really afford this nearly a week off of work…. But I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. At least I get to go home and see my dogs today.

Took these shots of just completely crashed out in stacked dog bed bliss today. This little has given me so much joy, companionship, heart and glee. He is now mostly retired from public access as my but he still amazes me regularly with his wisdom. My needs have changed drastically since he came into my life almost a decade ago, but he has consistently rolled with the punches and continued to deliver timely alerts, helping me maintain awareness of and manage my ramped up nervous system and confusing dissociative episodes. In the time we have been a team, I have healed my injured psyche the point that most of my ptsd symptoms are faint scars. Unfortunately, in that time I have also been diagnosed with and my need for a different sort of service dog has become apparent. Zed’s equanimity has impressed me in the last year as we welcomed the into our lives and begun the process of handler training another service pup for me. She is so different from him in so many ways, but he has really embraced her position as his protégé with grrace and good humor.

Morning walk portraits from some of my Saturday morning kids the , the from Korea, Lega’s brother Appa the , Jasper the mix and Coda, my little 🖤 I’ve been thinking a lot about raising puppies as I reflect on my last year with her and what a beautiful blessing she has been in my life. I think one of the most important things to consider when raising a puppy is how you respond when they do something wrong. So often, dogs who have social issues with other dogs are mirroring the ways their owner handled conflict with them when they were in their formative years. They are always reflecting our behaviors back to us, but that is a huge one that causes so many issues later in life. So far, I’m really pleased with the parts of myself she shows me 🖤

Oh, , I love you to the moon and back. You were such a sick little pup when you came to me for fostering and I am so grateful that you brought your poppa Jae and I together. You taught both of us so much about how to live a full and vibrant life in a body that has other plans. Thank you for the nose boops, squishy kisses and full body wags. You changed so many people’s lives in your short 9 years on this plane. Tell Jakob I love him and Hiro that I miss him. I know we will all feel and see you in everything we do. Rest easy now. Your watch is through.
