It has come to our attention that the photos of pigs on our website were leading some people to the understandable, but false accusations that there is swine on the property at 241 Capricorn Drive in Emigrant, MT. We apologize for the confusion created by the photos on our website and have accordingly removed them to make clear that no swine have ever been kept at 241 Capricorn Drive, Emigrant Montana.

Yellowstone River Ranch,LLC is proud to offer our first publicly available Hereford beef!

Our beef steers are 100% Montana Raised and finished with no antibiotics or hormones.

Order today and fill your freezers!. Available starting in September 2021. Customize your cuts. Delivery can be included for an extra fee.

We provide Options for purchase in:
Quarter beef, Half beef or Whole beef

How much meat will I get?

On average Miniherfords will finish out at a weight close to 1,000lbs(We call this ON-THE-HOOF) After it goes to the butcher the hanging carcass weight (ON-THE-RAIL)will be approximately 550lbs. After desired cuts are made the total amount of meat in the freezer (BOX WEIGHT) is about 315 lbs.

How does it work?
We will put your name on the list once we receive a deposit of $250. The beef will should be ready to harvest as early as September.

If you wish you buy a live animal and take it to your own butcher or do it yourself please let us know- we do sell live READY-TO-GO Steers!

The butcher will contact you directly to ask how you would like to customize your cuts of beef (we will supply you with a sheet to fill out with options).

When the beef goes to the butcher we will call you and you will pay Yellowstone River Ranch for the live cow (whole, half or quarter). When the meat is ready for pick up you will pay your portion of the processing fees and kill charges directly to the butcher. You will be responsible to pick up your meat from the butcher, we will let you know where this location will be. We can arrange delivery upon request.

How much does it cost?
We have two cost options available. We can sell the whole live animal for $2.50/pound ON-THE-HOOF. You will need to pick up at the ranch house and schedule with your own butcher.

Otherwise we will be charging $3.90/lb. ON-THE-RAIL. (See above) This will be paid directly to YRR.

Estimated Butcher Processing Fees = $0.85/lb. based on dressed weight + Kill Charge $145/animal. Butcher fees may change. (This will be paid directly to the butcher)

Example Sizes (exact weight of each beef will vary, you will be charged for your beef only- our butcher guarantees you will get the meat from your beef!)

QUARTER BEEF: Live Weight = 250lbs. Dressed Weight = 131lbs.
HALF BEEF: Live Weight = 500 lbs. Dressed Weight = 300lbs.
WHOLE BEEF: Live Weight = 1,000lbs. Dressed Weight = 550lbs.
*Boxed weight (what you will be taking home) is approximately 40% of Dressed weight.

The time is coming soon. Yellowstone River Ranch, LLC will have beef for sale. Quarter, half or full cuts. If you would like some or to purchase a whole beef let us know. We are asking $2500 for a full beef with that includes the butch price. We will take it to butcher have the butcher cut it how you would like and deliver to you when ready. The delivery will be within surroundings county's of park county. If you would like delivery somewhere else within the state there will be a fee.
