We don't have this Shepherd here at our shelter. He was never brought to us but if anyone has any further information that can help us locate him, please let us know. Thanks.

DOG IS BACK WITH OWNER.
HOPEFULLY THE LAST UPDATE: WE HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH THE PERSON THAT THE DOG WAS GIVEN TOO. HAVE ADVISED THE OWNER OF THEIR CONTACT INFORMATION. ALL THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST FOLLOW LEGAL PROTOCOL.
UPDATE: THIS IS NOW POSTED ON EMPORIA SHELTER PAGE. THEY DON'T HAVE THE DOG AND ARE LOOKING FOR WHO TOOK IT.
UPDATE: WHOEVER TOOK THIS DOG HAS NOT FOLLOWED PROPER PROTOCOL. THE OWNER HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE POLICE AND ANIMAL CONTROL TRYING TO FIND THEIR DOG. IT WAS NEVER TAKEN TO ANIMAL CONTROL AND NOW THE OWNER CAN'T FIND OUT WHO HAS IT. IF PROPER PROTOCOL ISN'T FOLLOWED YOU CAN BE CHARGED WITH A FELONY FOR THEFT SO IF YOU HAVE THIS DOG PLEASE CONTACT ANIMAL CONTROL OR SEND US YOUR NUMBER SO WE CAN GET IT TO THE OWNER UPDATE: Someone took the dog to the PD and they gave them the address to Emporia animal control. So should now be with Emporia Animal control.
I am not sure why they would leave the dog tied on the side of the road and not call local law enforcement or animal control. Not sure what she is talking about Rainbow Rescue opening on Wednesday. We are full and have no space and as far as I know she didn't contact us about the dog to even see if we had space.

UPDATE:
HAS BEEN RETURNED TO HIS OWNER.

This sweet boy was picked up by an officer this morning near the Police Department, running at large. He is very friendly, is at the shelter and is doing okay. If anyone knows who he belongs to please contact the animal shelter at 434-634-7320.

This little girl has been missing since Monday around 2:00 pm. when she was let out to go to the bathroom. Her family is very worried about her. She was last seen on Horseshoe Road, near her home. As we approach cold weather in the months ahead, the shelter is looking for any size animal sweaters that anyone may have and would like to donate. Sometimes our animals, especially older babies, may be in need of a little extra warmth. We are always very grateful for any donations that anyone may want to donate. Thanks.

Meet Tyson!
He has been at the shelter for some time now and is looking for his forever home. He gets along well with other dogs in the shelter and is friendly.
