Doing some imprinting with Jazz! We are getting started on scentwork to channel all her chocolatey goodness into something productive and fun. I like to do my first few imprinting sessions using all 3 NACSW odors. This metal pot has Birch, Anise, and Clove tins. I can’t wait to show you the next steps….. this girl has a very serious nose !

We are getting a late/interrupted start to Bones’ field work (been just a little busy 🍼)…. He is a full blown adolescent and clearly he needs an outlet for all this intensity !!!
Our older lab, Miley, is a fantastic little field dog but we really had to work on her gas pedal. Now it’s time to adjust to this one with literally NO brakes! I can’t wait to see the cool stuff he’s going to do in the field!! My goal is to mayyyyyybe squeeze in a hunt test before the season ends (maybe fall) …

Baby safety is top priority so we have lots of management set ups in place to ensure a secure,happy, and healthy co-existence while everyone gets to know one another. This baby girl has no clue how lucky she is to be raised in such a huge “multidog family”. We will be back to our new normal in no time!!!

Stimulus control is a beautiful thing when it comes to building clarity. Anyone who has met Roller knows he’s addicted to toys! Here I set him up for a restraint retrieve BUT I cue him to “search” instead! Once he targets the hide he finishes the sequence when I give his “toy” marker. Insanely fun! This dog is so cool!

Funny thing is that now that I’m playing something she finds intrinsically reinforcing she is beginning to bring the ball back and roll it into the circle to ask for more reps. Just shows that when we prioritize what’s right for the dog everything else will eventually fall into place…
