My father and I were interviewed for this important article for Forbes. "Hospitals Deny Immunocompromised Patients’ ADA Requests For Masks"

Immunocompromised patients fear getting medical care and risking getting Covid because medical staff are refusing to mask. They are delaying necessary treatment.

Shared by permission of Jason Hilton, the best freaking breakdown of Non Union commission and what we agents do:

OK.. lets put this to bed once and for all!!!!

in the case of the 20%, That is a fee paid by production to the agency. This is not included in your pay nor are you taxed on this amount. SO if the job is 100+20 expect to get 80$ unless it is ran through payroll... which is another story.

IF it is 100 (Agency Fee Included) your agent should only be getting 20.. if they take 40 THEN THAT IS DOUBLE DIPPING.
if it is union, then your agent will get 10% as that is SAG standard. If there is a +% on a SCALE, your agent should only take the +% as that is common sense since SAG contracts state that you should only commission on SCALE if there is not an additional negotiated amount.

THAT IS INDUSTRY STANDARD! I don't give a damn what director, UPM, PA, or who the hell ever says "that's not correct" as they are NOT IN THE POSITION OF AN AGENT.

Your agent, if they own the agency, Has these bills:
OFFICE
LICENSE
BUSINESS INSURANCE
WORKERS COMP INSURANCE
BONDING
PHONES/INTERNET
CASTING SITES
WEBSITE
MAIL SERVERS
BANKING
GAS
ELECTRICITY
PAYROLL COMPANY
STAFF (ASSISTANTS)
TAXES ON THAT 20%
ETC...

If they work for an agency, they are more then likely only getting 30% of the total take in at the agency. SO if it is 100+20 and they agency took the + and 20 from the 100, then they got 40$ meaning that your agent only got 12$..

If you HONESTLY believe that your agent is worth LESS THAN 12 fu***ng dollars for the hours that they put in, submitting you, pitching you, calling casting on your behalf, handling your book outs, handling excuses that are given for your reason as you are late, couldn't go to an audition etc.. For your agent to eat crow with casting cause they had your back and you took this as a joke, then you take it all as a joke and you should be dropped and left to fend. because thinking that your agent isn't worth more is quite pathetic and sad when they think you are worth millions.

And DO NOT THINK FOR ONE SECOND that you can be your own agent. its Illegal

US agents have lives and families and bills as well.. we all are not Ary Emmanuel with multi million dollar deals. POINT BLANK PERIOD.. respect our contracts and our work and you will go far..

An Agency Designed By A Former Casting Associate

The Library Agency opened its doors on May 15, 2017 with one agent, Julia Irzyk. Julia had formerly been an agent for 4 years at Elev8 and before that had been in Commercial and Print Casting for 6 years. The mistake she saw agents and actors making over and over was to set up profiles that reflected what they liked about themselves. Julia knew from experience (having worked in over a dozen casting offices) how casting viewed submissions... quickly. To get an audition, you first have to get noticed. And to that end, Julia places an enormous emphasis on photo selection. Now Julia has been joined by an excellent Commercial Assistant, Colton Kowalsky, and an outstanding Junior Theatrical Agent (also named Julia, so confusing), Julia “JT” Thornton. Together we work literally around the clock to help mold and shape talent. And that talent BOOKS! Get it? Books? Well, we do. WE BOOK!
