Good Dog Rescue Good Dog Rescue Good Dog is dedicated to animal rescue.

In addition to our primary goal of helping homeless and abandoned dogs, we

donate money to low-cost spay/neuter clinics in the south to help solve the problem of pet overpopulation;

engage in community outreach activities with local schools to help educate children and young adults about animal rescue and responsible pet ownership;

team with non-profit organizations that train rescued dogs t

o assist disabled people. Several of our Good Dogs have become certified service dogs, helping disabled people lead more independent lives.

Amber is doing fantastic! She has settled in perfectly. It’s like she’s been here forever. She loves her brothers. Follows them around everywhere. She is a happy, playful and just amazing little girl. She loves our daily hikes, and tears around the yard trying to keep up with the boys. We couldn’t be happier with her! Lacey (2023) has a new brother! I saw a post on Facebook right before Christmas about a golden that was in a shelter and was going to be euthanized. He ran away from the farm he was living and his owner was sick and couldn’t keep him. Less than 24 hours later we picked him up from the shelter.

From day 1 he and Lacey connected and haven’t stopped playing. Morning, noon and night they are just always together. He’s a year older, but the way she bosses him around, you would think it’s vice versa. Lacey is still a daddy’s girl and will just sleep on his lap or on his head any chance she gets. We had the first big snowfall of the new year a few weeks ago and she was in heaven. Rolling her whole body in the snow or catching snowballs, miss thing is a winter doggie. It could be 5 degrees out and she just wants to be outside chilling. Hope all is well! Allison Gaspar / Hillsborough NJ

January and February are tough months in NJ. It’s been very cold but Kona (2024) seems to love it. (Can’t believe it’s been a year!) Anytime it snows, my husband makes a “Kona mountain” for our guy to lie and play on. He loves the cold. I have to bribe him to come in as he would stay outside in very dangerous temps. Milo is doing great! He’s actually sleeping on the couch with me right now. He has successfully figured out our dog door and uses it whenever he feels the need to go out and do his business. Boys are loving him and my wife who vowed to never let a dog on our bed, has allowed it twice already. Safe to say everything is going great. Thank you so much for such a NICE PUPPY! Blue has settled in beautifully. He is the perfect fit for me. He immediately learned to be polite around the other pets and has done a 180 on the leash. It is honestly amazing how he has done everything I have asked of him seamlessly in only a week. MADDIE IS READY FOR ADOPTION! Maddie is a 5yo female rat terrier mix who is being surrendered by her owner in Memphis who can no longer care for her. Maddie is twice the size of a rat terrier but that’s what she looks like… a big rat terrier! Maddie is very affectionate with her people and loves to be close and cuddle. Medium activity level outside, calm inside. She’s fine with other dogs and living happily with another dog in the family. Good with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older. Fine with cats. Not crated. Housebroken except for rare accidents. Obeys basic commands. Loves to be with her people. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds.

DELILAH IS READY FOR ADOPTION! Delilah is a 5 month old female Australian shepherd mix puppy who was left in a box overnight on the porch of a veterinary clinic in MS. Fortunately, the clinic staff took in Delilah and reached out to us to rehome her with a good family. Friendly, well-socialized, happy young dog! High activity level outside, loves to romp outside with the family’s dog and settles down quickly in the house with good house manners. Loves other dogs, fine with cats and living with a cat in her foster home. Great with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older. Loves to swim! It’s believed that Delilah’s tail is naturally docked.Her veterinarian rescuer believes she would do well with Agility Training as she’s so focused and active. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands. Loves to be with her people. Estimated DOB is 5-1-24. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 20 pounds. Delilah’s ideal adopter will be an active family who has another dog for her to play with and possibly some kids! This is a happy young dog who will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family with kids.

BACCHUS IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY! Bacchus is a 6mo male German Shepherd Dog mix who was abandoned at a schoolyard in Memphis. Bacchus lives in the house with his foster family where he's lovingly cared for while awaiting his forever home. Well-socialized, friendly, calm personality, typical GSD temperament. Very confident and never meets a stranger. Growing up around kids and other dogs. LOVES OTHER DOGS! There’s several cats in his foster home but Bacchus is a little too playful with them and sometimes like to chase them, so probably not recommended for cats. Crate trained and housebroken. Medium activity outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Good on the leash, rides great in the car. Estimated DOB 3-1-24. About 45#, healthy, altered and utd on shots. This is an AWESOME young GSD mix who will make a great companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed.

Bosco is a sweet young terrier who was rescued as a stray in Memphis. He found the perfect forever home locally with a family who wanted a buddy for their female bully dog. Watch their cute video below! Lola and Bosco are close buds now. They play 50% of the day, sleep and guard bark the other half. Lola is very happy to have someone in the house with her and is acting like a more happy and younger dog. Bosco is very happy to have someone to play with. Tug of war is their favorite, but they also wrestle a lot. I was a little concerned at first about the dogs working out the household hierarchy, but eventually things settled in the arrangement that I expected.
