definitely did NOT expect *this* much snow.
thank goodness the outdoor intakes are with a dear rescue friend right now… but now i’m left with destroyed kennels 😞 the kiddos have to come back to me once this spell is done, and i have nowhere to put them.
kennels are $200 each to replace, $400 for heavier duty kennels that are honestly preferred for obvious reasons..

• approximately 6-9 months old
• 38lbs & we’re working on getting a little bit of weight on

she is great with new people, children (from infant ages on up,) and adores other dogs! we are learning basic house manners and crate training. she is a typical vocal husky with a goofy personality & is the sweetest girl! she’d make a fantastic family dog.
a fenced in yard is a must / no apartments.
i’m scheduling her vet appointment + spay appointment this upcoming week!

SHILOH HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

his new mama is obsessed; they’re now on their way back to fayetteville where he’ll have the best life with his two-legged siblings! it may have taken a bit longer, but we did it. he’s finally home 🥹 i can’t wait for all the updates!

amidst the chaos.. there are bright moments 🤍

arlo & timber were BOTH ADOPTED TODAY 😭🥹

like always, lots of tears.. i pray for them every time we’re in the car on the way to meet their new mamas & papas. from being babies i’ve raised since birth, to kiddos i save from euthanasia lists & watch them blossom.. it’s HARD to watch them go. but i know that they’ve gone to families that will give them the best.

now, i finally sit down and try to be present in the moment. try not to worry about tomorrow & all of its stressors, just focus on the positives that happened today. so, with that being said, i have another set of wins for my little rescue. and i’m just absolutely tickled 🤍🐕

Whenever you feel guilty about not giving your dog the best life, whenever you feel like you are working too late while your dog is at home, whenever you think about surrendering your dog because you “can’t give them the life they deserve”,
just look at this picture of pound puppies getting ready for dinner time.
You can see one dog with his paw out waiting for his food❣️🐾❣️
For these dogs locked in their kennels, this is the highlight of their day, they have absolutely nothing. Your dog would much prefer being on your sofa waiting for you to come home, rather than being stuck in here, I promise you are doing just fine….❤️🐾❤️

“what do you need?”

the top 2 things that i’ll always need is food & bedding!
“4health Salmon & Potato” is what everyone on site is on, and i’ve finally had NO digestive issues 😮‍💨 weekly, i’ll roughly go through 3 of the 45lb bags. so ANYTHING helps!
this pine bedding works really well for everyone & with cold weather coming up, it’ll definitely be needed in higher supply.

‼️ these guys have been here the longest &/or are the oldest of the crew, and need placement ASAP ‼️
vulnerable moment here as i’m finally done with pm chores & can sit down..
rescue has honestly become one of the biggest mental stressors for me.. i worry every moment of every day about the kids’ futures.
seeing how rescue itself is going everywhere.. the sheer amount of dogs in every town, state, and so on.. more dumped, more pregnant, more & more puppies.
then looking at these guys. they’re happy, healthy, growing & thriving. which is amazing..
but.
i’m able to house this many dogs temporarily, not permanently. i wish that i had a facility that would allow me to have long-term intakes, but i do not.
my house is BEYOND FULL. the outdoor pen areas are full; some, breaking apart due to wear and tear of growing & rambunctious “teenagers.”
donations are at a solid 0. absolutely everything is out of pocket & that is just plain hard for 20+ dogs. adoption applications have ceased. GOOD fosters are SO hard to come by. i want to see these guys go to their forever homes so i can continue my transition to a much smaller organization & help other dogs. but i’m at a very painful standstill on everything right now simply due to numbers.
it’s just a difficult time in rescue right now & im praying for better days ahead.. for myself & all of my buddies in rescue.
these babies deserve families. they deserve a chance to show someone how much value they possess and what they can add to a home. all they need is an opportunity. patience. love. and they’ll give you so much more in return. 🤍
