We are a dedicated group of volunteers who foster cats & kittens until forever families are found. Thank you for your support of our little group!

Cattin' Around Englewood is a dedicated group of volunteers who foster neglected and abandoned cats and kittens in our area until purrfect furever families can be found and/or until a local established no-kill shelter has space to accept them into their care. We also have volunteer trappers who can help direct you to TNVR services in the greater SWFL area. We will work with dedicated colony feeder

s to get each and every cat spayed and neutered as well as rabies vaccinations. Trapping in feral colonies requires a group effort and we will thus need your full support and involvement in the process. We want to thank St Francis Animal Rescue in Venice for taking five little bitty kittens from one of our TNVR sites into foster care today! These little cuties will spend about a month in a foster home then they will be ready for adoption. We are so grateful for all of our partnerships with local adoption centers. We are deep into kitten season here in SWFL and it takes all of us working together to help the babies who need us most. Thank you, St Francis!!! 🩶🩶🩶🩶🖤

ADOPTED! We are SO HAPPY for Virginia!!! We found Virginia at an animal control facility in absolutely horrible condition. Her head was pressed against her crate. Green goo flowed from her eyes and nose. Drool dripped from her mouth and she was too weak to walk or even stand. Our founder took her in as a personal foster and spent countless hours medicating, nebulizing, comforting, and eventually getting her up and walking again. We lose sleep over cases like Virginia, but we choose to do it over and over again. We were her only chance at survival as she would have otherwise been euthanized the following day. Virginia kept fighting so we kept fighting for her! Now look at her all healthy, chunky, and glowing. Happy, happy tears for sure! 🥺 We love this girl so much and we are so very thankful that she has now been adopted by a lovely couple who will pamper her just like she deserves. We wish you the sweetest, happiest, and healthiest life ever, Virginia! 💗

ADOPTED! Nova found her forever family this morning at EARS Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary! Nova came to us from an overcrowded animal control facility. She was clearly very loved in her previous home. She was already spayed, chunky, and her coat was in great condition. We don’t know why she ended up at animal control, but we are thrilled we were able to bring her into foster care then eventually get her over to our friends at EARS for adoption placement. Our hearts are so happy that she’s now back in a loving home where she can relax and soak up lots of loves. Happy, healthy life, Nova! 🩶🖤🩶

These mama dogs and their babies need your help! These two friendly girls are currently at Desoto County Animal Control with their babies. AC facilities are loud, crowded, and a risky place for little unvaccinated puppies. If you volunteer with any rescue organization, can you please share their pictures? We need to get these two families out of animal control as soon as possible. Transport is available anywhere within two hours of Arcadia if that helps. Please help spread the word! 🤞🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼

Trapping this time of year is no fun between the heat, humidity, rain, and bugs, but it’s more important now than ever since we are in the height of kitten season here in Florida. This week we were able to help a colony feeder in Warm Mineral Springs TNVR 11 cats thanks to a private donation. All of the cats were spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and received topical flea treatment. Two of the cats also received antibiotics to help their wounds heal. The total cost of these surgeries and meds was $535. Thanks to their donor, 11 cats will now live healthier, happier lives and their feeder will no longer be financially and emotionally burdened by the constant breeding cycle in her colony. Thank you so much to all of our donors who make projects like this possible!!!

ADOPTED! Della came to us in early March from an overcrowded animal control facility. She hung out in foster care for a few weeks while getting healthy then she headed over to our friends at EARS Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary in late March. It took five months for her forever family to find her, but this girl packed her bags and headed to her new home yesterday afternoon. Yay, Della! Happy, healthy life, Sweet Girl! 🖤🤍🖤

This three month old sibling duo are looking for a family of their own! Both boys are neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV & FELV, and have started their FVRCP kitten vaccination series. Here’s a few words from their foster:

Jaxon, the black male kitten with the white spot on his belly, LOVES his food. He will never miss a meal, that’s for sure. From the beginning, he was the largest of the litter. He loves to play with his squeaky toys and slide across the tile floor.

Not to be outdone, Jasper, the all black short haired male kitten, loves to play with his siblings and is quite content to take a back seat to them. Even as a tiny kitten, he always insisted on being held very close to your body – he’s evidently afraid of heights, but that doesn’t stop him from climbing to the bed at the top of the cat tree!

ADOPTED! Cattin’ Around Alum Storm found her forever family yesterday at Cattyshack Cat Cafe. Storm initially came to us from an overcrowded animal control facility. We were able to get her healthy then have her spayed and vaccinated before she headed over to the cafe for adoption placement. We’re so happy this once ill and fearful girl is now healthy and happy in a warm and loving home! Happy Life, Sweet Storm! 🖤

Tabitha is now available for adoption at Gulf Coast Humane Society! Tabitha is 7 years old. She’s a quiet lady who loves sleeping up high in cat tress. She’s a big fan of wet cat food, chin scratches, and head butts! Tabitha is healthy and loving, but she is FIV+. So many people misunderstand FIV. Please message us or go visit Tabitha and chat with the staff at GCHS if you have any questions at all about feline immunodeficiency virus. Tabitha and other FIV+ kitties will live long and healthy lives in a low stress environments with proper nutrition and immune support.

Meet Jill! She is quite independent, very curious, and friendly! Although the smallest, she’s definitely the boss. She’s a beautiful kitten with long soft hair and such a cute little face with that orange mark on her forehead.

Then there’s Jack, her brother. He is the most verbal of the litter and definitely speaks up and tells you his mind. He’s a short haired tiger kitten who runs and plays with all of his toys. His favorite is the ball that makes sounds when it rolls.

Jack & Jill have been neutered/spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FELV, and have started their FVRCP kitten vaccination series. They are comfortable with dogs and in a multi-cat household. Playtime for our newest little rescues! This crew came in from one of our TNVR sites a few weeks ago and have been growing like little weeds. The colony feeder started with one mouser that quickly became pregnant. Then those kittens quickly had babies of their own and before long, the property owners were just completely overwhelmed. We get calls about this exact scenario every single week. All of the adults in that colony have now been spayed/neutered and vaccinated and we are working on socializing these bouncing babies and hope to find them indoor homes so they never have to endure the struggles of being a colony cat. How’s hurricane snacking going in your home? 🍪🍿🥨 Stevie Wonder takes snacking very seriously! Volume up! He may not have full vision, but he has no problem finding his food bowls. He’s now over two pounds, but continues to suck his food, knead happily, and purr loudly at every meal. If you are interested in adopting a special needs baby, he might just be your little guy. Our partner organization, Feline Friends of SWFL got a call about a young kitten on the euthanasia list at animal services. We made arrangements to pick her up and get her into one of our loving foster home right away. You’re safe with us, Minnie!

Yesterday completed Crabby Patty’s ten day medical hold so she was released back to her familiar neighborhood this morning. She wasted no time leaving and didn’t even bother to turn around and say thanks. Farewell, Crabby Patty! We want to extend a special thanks to Crabby Patty’s colony caretaker. She feds Crabby and friends like clockwork every morning at 9:00am. While we wish every kitty would adjust to an indoor life, some kitties just don’t. Crabby Patty will live her best outdoor life and will never have to worry about being a street mama. She’s now fixed, vaccinated, and dewormed. Happy life, Crabby Patty! 🦀 🐈‍⬛

Last Friday we introduced you to Sunnie and Eclipse. These beautiful ladies had blown through three different fosters with a partner rescue and were really struggling to trust anyone. Yes, they are still super skittish, but choosing to come out of their hiding spot to enjoy a meal and letting their current foster sneak in a few pets is HUGE! We are absolutely thrilled with their progress already. 🐈‍⬛🖤🐈‍⬛

Little Habanero is having a hard time resisting Churu treats! This is going to be such a fun transition to follow. He has the most patient foster on earth. If anyone has a chance of taming this little beast, it’s her! 🌶️🙀🌶️

Volume Up! Ladies & Gentlemen, Those little smacks are music to a bottle feeding mama’s ears! As each of Dolly’s babies reach 400 grams, they will be introduced to Royal Canin Mother & Babycat wet food. Kitten Milk Replacer will still be their main intake for a few weeks, but they will gradually start eating on their own. For now, we celebrate at least one of them reaching this huge milestone! Go Baby, Go! 💪🏼
