A message from the owner:

Good morning! This is Jenny. I am deeply saddened to announce that, unfortunately, this will be the last post for The Sound Hound Pet Spa, as we are now officially closed. This came very quickly, and has been a very difficult and emotional time for us all.

First off, I would like to thank you all for the years of support! We love you all (and your fur babies) very much!! It has personally been a truly life changing experience helping and saving so many pups these past 20 years. I am honored to have been able to work with (and rehabilitate) so many amazing pups. And for that, I am deeply thankful. 💜🐾💜

I AM pleased to announce that all of our staff have found their new place in the pet kingdom! So, If you are interested in following your groomer from this location, pm and we will relay their personal info directly to you. 💜🐾💜

Thank you all so very much, we are greatly appreciative of all of the support and kindness we have received during this transition. And, with that, we wish our staff and our amazing clients the best, as we move forward to our new paths. 💜🐾💜

“Bandit saved my life around 4 am this morning, he woke me up (I don’t know how long he may have been trying to wake me) and I couldn’t get up and I was really sweaty and weak.

I asked him to get my meter and he did, my blood sugar was at 30 (this is very dangerous and can cause diabetic coma, if he didn’t wake me up I may have not woken up again).

I asked Bandit to get me juice so he did. Then I was able to get up to get more to eat. I love this dog!!” Dogs are family ❤

First, I would like to say how VERY much we appreciate each and every one of our clients!! Thank you for your amazing support this past year and we look forward to making 2022 even better!

Second, we would like to give a HUGE shout out to Humane Society of the South Platte Valley for all of their hard work and dedicated staff/ Volunteers. You guys are so incredibly amazing, and we look forward to continuing working with you to help these wonderful fur babies get the fur-ever home they dream of! ❤

The severity of mats. Mats are more than just a tangle in your dogs coat. A lot of people are unaware just how detrimental a mat is. Here is some knowledge on mats that will be quite the eye opener.
1. Mats pull on the skin.
2. They harbor bacteria, dead skin, debri and can smell.
3. They can create sores and wounds underneath.
4. Mats in the paw pads or armpits can change your dogs gait.
5. They are painful just existing. Creates bad blood circulation and can cause the blood to rush back to that area when removed. Hematomas. Bruising.

Removing mats:
1. Removing mats by brushing them out takes ALOT of time. And therefore costs more money.
2. Brushing them out still damages that hair.
3. Cutting them out can be dangerous especially if done by a non professional and will leave holes in the coat.
4. Clipping them out is still a lot of time, stressful and painful as the mats are pulled and tugged. It takes a very close (short) cut to get underneath mats to get them out. About 1/4 inch of coat will be left or bald spots.
5. When your dog needs the groomer to remove mats they are not set up for success. It is far more difficult to remain calm, comfortable and cooperative

We’ve made some changes due to COVID-19

Dear The Sound Hound Pet Spa community,

As we stay open (being considered an essential business) we want to keep you up to date on how we're changing due to COVID-19:

• We are changing our entire Spa schedule to accommodate 1 household at a time! This means, whether you have 1 dog or 6, your four legged family will be the ONLY ones here at any given time. This gives us the needed time to disinfect and properly clean any and every surface between clients!

• Our hours have changed!
We are available 24/7- BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!!
**After hours appointment availability is due to the dramatically changing schedules of our
** frontline workers are considered "First Responders" and will also receive the appropriate discount!! We thank you for your sacrifice and service!!***
As always, we remain able to accommodate any schedule needed. With that in mind, we will NOT be accepting ANY walk-in appointments! Please call in advance for ANY services needed so that we may be prepared to help everyone and stay safe!

• We now provide CURBSIDE DROPOFF AND PICKUP! Just give us a call when you're outside and a member of our staff will gladly come out to you! This way we can keep our clients safe in the comfort of their vehicle, and keep the possibility of infection to a minimum!

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread and raise concerns in Colorado and elsewhere, we will be remaining open and here to serve. With that in mind, I want to share with you the actions The Sound Hound Pet Spa LLC is taking to protect you and our four legged community..
We are staying on top of the latest information through official channels like the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We are also taking extra caution with our facility through recommended cleaning guidelines that include regularly spraying and wiping down the high traffic areas, door handles, etc. In addition, we are keeping our clients safe by sanitizing the work area and tools between each pet, including hand washing, cage cleaning and other practices recommended by the CDC.
We are committed to serving you and will communicate any future decisions that impact you or the services we provide. Please know that your and your pets health and safety, along with well-being, is our top concern! Stay Safe and We'll see you soon!
