One of the coolest things about building this directory is learning (and seeing) all of the people involved in this industry (horses!) Just rehauled the boarding category with an awesome format - and it's FULLY broken down. So when you go in, choose the part of the state you want. If you're in Northern Utah (north of Spanish Fork), that's broken up into 1/3rds. Each one has specific options for long-term, short-term, or overnight/layover. IN each one you can see the cities listed, and when you click on the city, it will take you SPECIFICALLY to that city and the listings! Everything is linked and easy for you to use!

While you enjoy that, I'm working on the Lessons portion (and there's a lot in there!) Stay Tuned!

Want to be listed? It's FREE! Just fill this out AS COMPLETELY AS POSSIBLE: horsehavenranch.org/uedform

That's all for now!

Rick was raised in California's famous San Joaquin Valley—the home of world renowned Hackamore and the Bridle Horses. From an early age, Rick demonstrated a unique ability with horses. Under the expert tutelage of his father, Keith Haag, he started riding almost as soon as he could walk. He also learned from the likes of Bob Barrett, Dave Oakes and Tom Dorrance. Rick was working on the vast California ranches for wages before his teens.

Rick was a finals qualifier in high school and college rodeo and won the professional bareback-bronc rookie of the year in 1986. After a career ending injury Rick hit the ranch trail; working on some of the most prestigious ranches in the west. Rick worked the Circle Bar Ranch, the Flying M, Cane Springs Ranch, Finney Ranch, The Mathis Ranch and many more, all the time refining the skills of the Horseman. He has been a world-class competitor in a variety of events and has written an equine training manual. He has put on a variety of horse training clinics in California.

Rick also trained Jumping Horses and nearly every breed in California. He trained racehorses and had two of his colts sell at Barrett's Sale, the second largest Thoroughbred sale in the country. Rick attended two years of horseshoeing school and became a successful corrective and therapeutic farrier in California. He attended Merced College and Southern Utah University majoring in Equine Science and English Literature respectively. He also minored in Education/Special Education. These other endeavors have improved his ability to relate to people and their horse problems, or more often than not: horses with their people problems.

Our Family loves spending as much time as we can outdoors. My eldest daughter is a cosmetologist and model, my middle daughter is attending USU Eastern on a Soccer scholarship, and my son is becoming a top hand. My wife is perfect. :)
