We noticed Sullivan living with a small feral colony of cats in our neighborhood. He has taken well to the kids and the dogs.

He stood out to us because he was the solo kitten and he was missing his right eye. We'd been talking about trying to TNR the colony, but were surprised by a winter kitten before we put our plan in action. We notified our immediate neighbors about him and that if anyone could catch him for us, we wanted him! It was on December 23 that my neighbor's granddaughter was able to catch him and bring him

to our house. We took him to the vet, where he was negative for diseases but had a smorgasbord of worms and ear mites. The vet said that his eye was probably ruptured when he was younger and that it had basically disappeared. We went home with medication for his eye, worms, and ear mites, and a follow-up appointment. He is funny, loving, spunky, ornery, playful, and quite the lover boy. After his rabies & FIP vaccinations scheduled for February 12, he will be fully up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. Going forward he will need a neuter and surgery on his eye to prevent the draining and sew it closed. There aren’t any family dynamics that I would be nervous having him in or warning anyone about. He hasn’t been with cats since he was removed from his colony, but he's just been so awesomely open with anyone who comes in our house - male, female, young, old, and with the dogs that I've been craving the opportunity for him to have another cat back in his life! Sullivan had horrible ear mites when we first found him. To this day he really REALLY loves a good ear rubbing! And our doxie Dash, very much dislikes his mister giving the kitten attention!

Troy and I left for the weekend to be with family in Winston-Salem for my Pop-Pop's Celebration of Life (He passed on Easter Sunday after blessing this world for 101.5 years!!!). On our way home Troy was talking about how excited he was for Dash to greet him at the door and I was really excited to see how excited Sullivan would be to see me. Turns out he hid under the couch for 10 minutes watching us and pretending he had no idea who we were before he decided he remembered up and wanted to love me! Dano and I sat on the couch and Sullivan realized he knew that "couch potato" and came to give me all the face rubs!
