Isn't it a great day to have a good day?! Sadie and Sidney think so! These girls had a great spa day yesterday, visited the vet today and are just thankful they aren't in the cold, crowded, loud shelter! They are both soaking in this WARM, BEAUTIFUL sunshine we are having in southeast Alabama today!

These girls are PRECIOUS, sweet and so full of love. We hope that someone has space to give them each their own home to live out the rest of their golden years in!

Sadie & Sidney are at the groomer for a spa day. Look at this precious angel. Her foster says she’s amazing with both little and big dogs, Cats and loves to snuggle. She really enjoys having another dog around. Sadie would be excellent for any type of family, one with kids, a single person family, someone that works from home, out of the home… you name it, she’ll thrive in it!

We do believe she is older than we initially thought. She has an ear infection that needs addressed and a small skin infection on a very over used ni**le 😔 this girl has likely lived outside and been bred lots and lots.

One of Vintage Paws goals is to be able to create an Angel Fund for other rescues in need. Why not start here? If you are able to help monetarily with this puppy, please consider donating or sharing.

This puppy will likely need a limb amputation or extensive wound care that will require lots of vet visits. Please donate directly to Joy’s Pet Haven, they are such a blessing to our area!

We have pulled sweet Sidney from the shelter. She is up to date on rabies and is already spayed so she is ready to look for her forever home! Sidney is heartworm positive, treatment and prevention will be covered by Vintage Paws. Sidney is aged to be around 6-7 years old and is a sweet girl. She behavior tested well with other dogs & her foster has cats, so we will have an update on cat testing ASAP.

Meet Piper!

Is a sweet, buy shy senior Chihuahua that is looking for his forever home! Pipers owner died and he found himself in a shelter with 2 housemates. He does have an old ligament injury to one of his hind legs, that causes him no pain, that he holds up sometimes. Piper loves to lay under blankets and seems to love sharing his foster dad more than his foster mom. He also suffers from a condition called KCS, or dry eye, that will require lifelong eye drops. Piper does well with other dogs, but will need a home without small kids. He is heartworm negative, current on vaccines and NexGard Plus and will be ready for his adoption after he is neutered!

Our biggest New Years wish is that sweet Reggie will find a home of his own!

Reggie is a precious small/medium Labrador mix (like 35 lbs!) that was pulled from the euthanasia list of a county shelter. Reggie is totally blind, but this doesn't keep him from being the best boy ever!

According to his foster, he is incredibly easy, sweet and loves other dogs. Reggie does well in the house (hes totally housebroken!), gets around very well and loves having other dogs in the house. For this reason, we will require his future adopter to have at least 1 other submissive/easy going dog in the house. Reggie stays in his fosters laundry room or loose in the house when she is at work or not home and he does great. No accidents or silly/naughty behavior!

Reggie is heartworm positive, but we will cover fast kill treatment due to his new senior identity and him being otherwise healthy. We will take adoption applications on Reggie, but adoption will be finalized after his heart worm treatment is complete.

Reggies adoption fee has been waived to an approved applicant.

Just pulled up 8 dogs from Ozark Animal Control.
Now we are headed to Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport, Florida.
If you would let to help us with transports or short term fostering, please let us know. We also have to make a trip to Birmingham airport this week to meet a very special flight. We have grown so fast and desperately need Volunteers.

These two sweet pitties have been in the shelter too long. We would love to get them out ASAP. Both were behavior tested today and tested pretty much perfectly.

We are getting low on medical funds again and have 2 dogs in our care that need both neutered and medical attention ASAP.

You all worked so hard to get Jack, the black lab, out of the shelter and he is heading to a foster to adopt home today! All that is preventing him from a final adoption is a neuter!

Piper, the senior Chihuahua, is busting out of the shelter today and needs an exam and radiographs to determine the cause of his non weight bearing lameness on the right hind leg. This may or may not result in surgical recommendations or medical treatment. He will also need neutered prior to going to his new home.

We would like to raise $500 to cover the cost of both of their neuters and xrays of Pipers leg.

We caved and took this precious paralyzed puppy into our care after he was brought into the vet clinic by a Good Samaritan who offered to pay for his care. THEN, one of our favorite vet techs offered to foster to adopt him!

He’s not out of the woods yet, we don’t know if he’ll gain use of his hind limbs ever but we are hopeful!

We share a lot about needing fosters but we need supporters and volunteers in any and all capacity! Without folks to share the senior faces that need our help throughout the Facebook community, we would not be able to do what we do.

If you cant foster, please continue sharing our posts! Nowhere is too far! We have radius limits for fosters, but if we can work out transport, we will adopt to anywhere in the US!

Most of our dogs may require a little more veterinary attention than younger dogs, it just comes with the grey faces! 2 more small senior dogs are needing help out of the shelter! We have a transport offer but need a FOSTER.

Both are senior (10+ years old) and were surrendered to a county shelter when their 90 year old human passed away. The Chihuahua (Piper) appears to have a medical issue with his left hind limb that needs addressed by staff. Flash, the Beagle is his brother.

They do NOT have to go together. We do not know how they are with cats, but they seem to be okay with other dogs.

If you can help foster either of both of these babies, please let us know ASAP! Both will likely need more extensive vet care if we are able to pull them.
