Thank you to Andrea with Mikey's Chance Canine Rescue for generously sharing your donation of dog food with neighboring rescues and ARFS - Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant Co., Wa for transporting!
We were able to pass along two of our bags to one of our rescue partners, Beck 'n Call Pet Care, and their two beautiful husky fosters, Sasha and Karen, that are also available for adoption! (See comments…)

I went from 203 to 137 faster than I though was possible. And, I'll never forget the look on my doctor's face when I walked into his office for my annual checkup.

“Are you doing that “Rice Method” I told you about?”, he stuttered.

So, I told him I've been doing it for the last few months and how it's really transforming my life and health.

"Nothing has EVER worked so fast for me!", I said with a BIG smile.

Even the nurses were complimenting me on my transformation and asking me how I had done it at my age.

It was the first time in almost 2 decades, I left my the doctor’s office feeling good about myself.

So, maybe this could help you too? Click below to see what the “Rice Method” is all about.

Our rescue took Willow in on 2/10/23 when she was hit by a car and left injured. She was immediately transported to the ICU where she suffered a collapsed lung and cranial swelling. This girl healed up nicely after some time and was placed into a foster. The foster unfortunately had a medical emergency of her own and we had to find other placement for Willow. This is when Beck 'n Call Pet Care opened a kennel for her and where Willow has spent most of her foster life. We are more than happy to announce that she has FINALLY found her forever home. We can’t thank everyone enough for sticking by Willow during this long journey to find her the perfect fit. Heres to your new beginning with a wonderful family 🐾

Recently our rescue was awarded a grant from Columbia Basin Foundation to use towards our community spay/neuter project. We also received a generous donation from a community member that felt compelled to help the more at-risk pet population in our area. By 'at-risk', we simply mean pets that are homeless, or even at-risk of becoming homeless. Because homeless dogs do not have the security of a fenced yard or indoor lifestyle to help prevent them from being bit by the dreaded love bug, this becomes another 'at-risk' factor.
A few weeks ago, a Moses Lake Police Department officer reached out to us regarding a family in need of help. The officer initially made contact with them after receiving a request for puppy food. He was able to make a delivery to the family after the department received some dog food donations from Pawsitive Alliance (transported by ARFS - Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant Co., Wa and delivered by our rescue).
This family was residing in a duplex with two children and 10 dogs. TEN DOGS! That is a lot to juggle in a small space. This family was (reportedly) at risk of being evicted and needed help fast. They had (2) 20 month old dogs which had produced two litters to include the (2) 10 month old pups and (6) 10 week old puppies also residing in the home. The first thing we did was start the vaccination process with all 10 dogs to prevent Parvo.
Next, we secured transfers to two other rescues on the west side! SEVEN dogs were transferred last week! The youngest 6 pups were transferred to The NOAH Center along with another local rescue pup, while Seattle Humane took one of the older pups. The amount of collaboration it takes to make these rescue transfers happen is so appreciated! From our own fosters transporting to their homes and holding overnight...to volunteers transporting to the official pick-up location...to Seattle Humane sending a volunteer driver all the way to Quincy to pick up animals from our county and transport back to Seattle, including NOAH's transfers, where they will then send their own volunteer to meet up for the remainder of the transport. It is truly awesome to see these rescues working together, and even better to be a part of it!
Lastly, we have secured vetting appointments for the last 3 dogs to be spayed/neutered as well as receive Rabies vaccinations (which our rescue will pay for out of our own funds)! We could not have done that this year without the funding we received! We are so appreciative...AND...these are only 3 of the several pets we will be able to alter this year thanks to these funds!
When it comes to rescue, teamwork truly is the best work!♥️🐾
Shout outs to Officer Reyna, Suella Gran, Michelle Davis, Noah, our husbands that prefer not to be named, Jordyn Gebhard and of course our board member who had the foresight to apply for this grant … all of the selfless people that helped us make this happen!🐾♥️

Duke update: He has had his second dressing change since his vet visit. He is healing nicely. This boy is not only stunning but he is potty trained now and listens very well. Luckily for Duke, he already has an adopter lined up 🐾
