POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:
Other
Potential challenges comments:
Had a scratching incident when picked up to be put in a carrier while in the home but tolerated pick up in the shelter so the issue may be connected to being put in a carrier or to not being picked up with sufficient care. Owner reports Kitty doesn't like being picked up at all, so adopter should exercise care.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:
Level 1
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:
Kitty was on top of the den, quietly sitting in the loaf position, leaned forward to sniff and eat treats and appreciated all petting leaning in gently for cheek rubbing and was coaxed down with more treats and continued to enjoy all petting, ate wet food and struggled mildly when picked up but was reasonably tolerant of it.
Kitty interacts with the assessor, appreciates & solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience but they should be counseled on his potential dislike of being picked up.
