Hi folks! Due to technical difficulties, there won't be a video today (Thursday, 12/17). Hope to have a fresh video for you tomorrow!

Good news... I did figure out how to change the settings so that we don't have a mirror image in the video. I'm sure there are some watchers out there who just thought I had a severe case of dislexia as I'd say "right" when it appeared that I was doing things with my left. So that should be fixed in future sessions!

Don't miss out on the annual HCWE General Membership Meeting and Awards! Due to COVID, we won't be having our traditional dinner party. Instead, we'll host this socially distanced breakfast meeting at Circle Star Arena where there's plenty of room for us all to stay safe and distanced with our individually wrapped yummy SANTIAGO'S burritos, juice and coffees! The meeting will be followed by Kitty's annual Halloween Speed/Gamblers Choice Jackpot in costume, so plan on bringing your pony and costume if you can!

It's Expo time!!! Working Equitation will be at Rocky Mountain Horse Expo this year! Come join Lauren, Chris, and High Country Working Equitation to learn about this fun challenging sport or enhance your current WE skills. Lauren and Chris are part of the Ride With the Experts (RWTE) program, featuring multiple WORKING EQUITATION exercises and cross training clinics for you and your equine partner. In addition to the WE clinics, please be sure to visit our High Country Working Equitation booth in the barns!

The RMHE website will be updated the week of 1/20 with this year's clinicians and sign-up form for RWTE, so stay tuned and keep visiting their website!

This is why we take our time with the youngsters... if you want longevity in your horse, be smart about what you do with them and how they are worked in the formative years. Low impact, relaxation, balance, gentle strengthening. Too much too soon often equals permanent body damage.

Also note the early growth plate fusion in the lower legs, hence the importance of keeping a foals feet trimmed and balanced. The permanent conformation of the lower leg bones are directly affected by the balance of the hoof.

Really enjoyed teaching an Intro to Working Equitation Clinic today at Acres of Opportunity Ranch. Thank you to Corinne for hosting such a successful Clinic. Thank you to Barbara for organizing and promoting. And, of course, thank you to all the riders and auditors who were so wonderfully studious. What a fantastic group to teach! I found out after the fact that there were 10 riders on the wait list... so we’ll be planning many more clinics to try to meet that demand! Love, love, love that WE is gaining such popularity so quickly!

Note the live ducks in the Livestock pen... the last two clinics I’ve taught have been at facilities that host The Colorado Obstacle Challenge events and both have had live animals in the Livestock Pen. Love it!!!
