Day 2 - Tying back
Learn how to begin teaching COMMON SENSE on your young horse, before ever stepping on. Tying back is a very common method and here’s why!
Tomorrow will be the last day of this series!
Fanny Mae
Fanny Mae is really coming along! This video was 2 rides ago and it was the first time I stepped on her without any work before hand.
Her demeanor has changed tremendously and she is starting to really read my seat and soften up! I can’t wait to share her 60 day progress with you all!

So this horse has had quite a problem with soling up. He randomly picks places and just stops. Doesn’t want to move, at all.
Yesterday I was tough on him, spun him in circles and sent him off where I wanted him to go.
Today was a lot better, although you can see he still has it in his mind. HOWEVER, I was able to reward him for choosing the correct answer, FORWARD MOVEMENT.
**NOTE** this horse is a 2 yr old with less than 30 rides. He has done this in a big arena, round pen and the indoor. It is not for the lack of space. Consistency and patience is the key here.
Enjoy and please share!
It helps my business tremendously!
Jasper came in without having much of a handle. Yesterday was tough but it made a huge difference! Today Jasper loped around pretty nicely and gave me a good stop! Very happy with his progress
Jasper Loping Around
Jace got to meet some cool new friends!
Pablo Teaching a spin
Here’s a little update on Pablo!
He’s learning to spin and I thought it would be cool for some of you to see what it’s like behind the scenes! Pablo has only had about 75 rides total, in his life. He’s really a neat little horse!
Nova Ride 3
Just finished up ride #3 on Nova and she has done fantastic!
She’s moving out really well, giving exceptionally to the bosal (first time in it, btw) and learning to stop.
Trailers & Horses
As a lot of you know, trailering can be a huge issue for a lot of horses. It’s one of the most common issues, in fact! Where a lot of people fail their horses in this area is being IMPATIENT with them. I’ve seen so many people force a horse in, over and over.
A broke horse isn’t just a nice arena pony. Being able to load quietly is, also a big part of making a good, broke horse.
Always take your time. Always be patient.
It really pays off in the end!
