Cats Alive is looking for a special Rescue/Foster for this sweet female, Anna. She was originally an owner surrendered when her owner passed away. She was around 15yr when first surrendered. She was then adopted out and now her current owner (senior) has returned her again to Cats Alive. She is a little bit of a mess, Had a URI, hyperthyroidism, and developing renal failure. She's on Baytril for another ten days, thyroid meds and k/d for life. If can see beyond her medical issues, Anna is a great cat, really sweet all day long. She deserves a home to live out her last months/years with. If can help please let us know.

This kiddo is at the Aztec Shelter and in need of rescue. Any rescues have room?
Rocky- he has been at the shelter a while and he is tired of being coupe up in a kennel. Rocky neutered hw negative 2yr lab low rider leg mix.. Good with other dogs. Rocky does have a great personality. He needs some time to get to know you and opens up and is a love bug. He isn't fond of men. He will need work on that. He gets along great with other dogs, He was cat tested and not great with cats would need a little work to be around them unsupervised. He has been there a while needs he chance!

Happy Ending part 1: Cheeks aka Mary was a special project from Aztec shelter. She came into Aztec back in February a royal mess- emaciated, infections, hw positive, septic- you name it she had it. Aztec worked tirelessly to save her as it was a roller coaster day in and day out but they never gave up on her. They got her stable and ready to move to rescue. A couple days before the trip was planned to go to rescue it became apparent that she was pregnant! She was so skinny that her belly didn’t show until very late. Another unexpected hurdle. She made it to a wonderful rescue in Utah. Her prognosis when arrived was guarded- she had enlarged heart pressing against her lungs causing pneumonia symptoms, her babies were about a week to two weeks out and couldn’t even start talking about treating her advanced heartworms yet. She was prepared special meals and fed too many times a day to say 😊 to get her to gain weight and get stronger. Then a miracle happened, she had her babies- 5 of them and they were alive. For all intents and purposes those babies with all the meds and steroids Mary was given to survive there was no way those babies should be alive- but they were, and healthy! Skip many weeks ahead and the babies have all been adopted and doing wonderfully. Mary is still fighting to win her battle. She was given the clearance to start heartworm treatment and has had her first treatment. She is still struggling, the treatment hit her extremely hard and some setbacks. She is not out of the woods yet, but this girl is a fighter and we all have high hopes her happy ending is coming very soon. Will keep this page updated with her progress. Here are pics of her and her pups.

Rex needs a rescue. He is currently at Aztec Shelter and has a ride to Denver on Monday 13th. He is Neutered 7yr possibly? boxer mix or dane mix? Not sure- owner surrender weighs 60lbs super sweet boy, gets along great with other dogs. He has been an outside only dog his whole life, and his owner had to surrender him because she has 8 dogs. He was turned into the shelter with his sibling who has a rescue to go to. Don't want to leave him behind. Any rescues might be able to help him?

Meet Rocky, he is a low rider currently at Aztec shelter looking for rescue. 2yr neutered male, hw negative. has rabies, bordetella and vaccs. He is great with other dogs. He is a love of a dog and has a great personality. He was an owner surrender because the family was having a baby so couldn't have a dog... sigh... His one quirk is that he wasn't treated well by a man in his past and now he is not great with men and will need work on that. He becomes defensive when a man comes near will growl and bark like something bad is going to happen. If anyone might be interested in helping this kiddo he does have a ride to Denver or co springs tomorrow or next transport around mid July. His roommate at the shelter is leaving for rescue tomorrow and we would love to get him out if we can.

Rescue takes a village. Several groups came together quickly the past 2 days to save these lovely 3 special needs kiddos near Shiprock nm. Sadly the owner is losing his health battle and needed a rescue for these guys to go pretty quickly. All three are missing their front legs, they were born that way- but don't tell them - its doesn't slow them down at all. They are small dogs but have huge personalities and have been loved and cared for all their 7yrs. Thank you to all involved w Denkai Animal Sanctuary Hannah Elizabeth Browning Gina Mitchell Morris Cristene Justus Double J Dog Ranch . Transport is being arranged to their rescue where they will have a bright future ahead filled with lots of love and adventures.

One of the mommas from yesterday transport gave birth today. Phew that was a close call. Glad she waited. She is a tiny girl with the sweetest personality and was very vocal on the transport. Now we know she was telling me to hurry up and get her settled in rescue so she could have her babies- 8 of them ☺️ Thank you Animal Rescue of the Rockies for taking care of her.

Paws on the Go

Paws on the Go is a rescue transport service committed to saving the lives of homeless companion animals in overcrowded shelters. We provide transportation from needy shelters to 501(c)(3) rescue organizations. By providing safe transportation (shuttle is fully climate controlled, with an open cab to back with lights and permanent kennels) those animals are given a second chance to find a loving home, animal shelters are able to effectively work with rescue organizations in moving animals when they become overcrowded vs. euthanizing, and rescue organizations are lifted from the burden of finding financial resources and man power to physically move their animals. We primarily help shelters in Colorado and New Mexico and we are open to helping additional shelters that are in need.

In addition, Paws on the Go actively supports the shelters we transport from and contribute to ending pet overpopulation in those areas.
