This sweet girl is Adira. She is a friendly bunny who likes to be pet, but also can be a little shy at times. Adira loves her exercise time, playing with her toys and enjoys snacking on romaine lettuce. Adira goes on visits in the community with our outreach program.
All of our bunnies are spayed/neutered and receive their RHD vaccine before being adopted. If you would like to meet Adira, stop by during our public hours on Wednesday evening from 5-7.

Good info!
Bringing home a new bunny is such an exciting feeling, but it can also be a big adjustment for them. The 3-3-3 rule is a great reminder of what to expect in those early days.
First 3 days: theyβre overwhelmed, everything is new, and they may hide or seem unsure.
First 3 weeks: they start settling in, learning your routine, and feeling a little more comfortable.
First 3 months: this is when trust really forms. Their personality comes out, and they start acting like they truly feel at home.
Every bunny adjusts at their own pace, so patience and gentleness go a long way. ππ
If this helps, donβt forget to like, comment, and share so more future bunny parents see it!

Erie Area Rabbit Society and Rescue began in 2013 when Ron and Linda realized there was not a shelter or rescue dedicated to rabbits. Rabbits are the third most adopted and surrendered pet in America so you would think they would be just as important as a dog and cat shelter but they are not. Most people do not even know the difference between domestic and wild rabbits.
When Linda and Ron began they only had a few bunnies that they had rescued but that number grew more and more as people became familiar with EARS. They moved to a new facility and continued to educate and grow. The purpose of EARS was to be care for bunnies and bunnies only.
EARS rescues bunnies who have been let loose outside and takes in surrenders from owners who can no longer care for their bunnies. We vet check all of the rabbits we take in and get them spay and neutered. Once they are cleared, they are eligible for adoption. Our adoption process includes home visits, vet references and approval from our adoption committee. We make sure our bunnies go to fur-ever homes.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so we receive no funding to help pay for medical costs, supplies, food, or staff to care for the bunnies. We rely solely on donations.
Rabbits make wonderful pets but need care and affection. All of our bunnies are inside pets and require a full commitment. If you are a first time rabbit owner we suggest you volunteer first before adopting so you know the proper care for a bunny. Also, it allows you to spend time with the bunnies and get to know the perfect one for you!
If you are interested in volunteering, adopting or just want to know more, feel free to stop in any day from 10am to 1 pm or Wednesday nights from 4pm to 7pm. We have almost 100 bunnies.
