I can't believe that summer break is only 4 months away! That being said, the dates for summer camp are up!

I have FOUR summer camp options available! This year I am offering an ADULT riding camp. It is a 2 hour session in the evening.

Dates:
- June 10-13 - Youth Riding Camp
- June 10-13 - Adult Riding Camp
- July 22-25 - Introductory Horsemanship Ages 10+
- August 5-8 - Introductory Horsemanship Ages 5-9

Last year Kristin had the opportunity to be a judge at the Meeker Mustang Makeover and this year she’ll be back again!

Experience the Wild West and train a wild mustang! Applications for the Meeker Mustang Makeover are open though April 1 for Youth (ages 10-17) and Under Saddle (ages 15+). Free clinics, lead by professional mustang trainer, Steve Mantle, will be offered to all MMM trainers to aid and support their process with their horses.

Woohoo! Big progress was made today in both the indoor and outdoor arenas! The old footing was removed, and new base layers were placed. The outdoor was also expanded! Tomorrow the new footing will go in, and both rings will be laser leveled and ready to ride!

Man, we had some hot air balloons come low and CLOSE earlier this week. Such a cool thing to see! Only the cats seemed slightly bothered by the noise. 🐴🐱🎈

Come work with us! PVF is hiring both a part time weekend Barn Hand, and a part time weekday Maintenance Barn Hand. Both positions could be filled by the same applicant depending upon experience!

This job generally requires the ability to perform the following tasks:
Daily duties:
-Feeding preparation and distribution, muck out stalls, turn in and turn out, cleaning and refilling water containers, empty all garbage and manure buckets, and other general cleaning/maintenance/organizing.
-Helping take care of and work with our small farm animals involved in our petting zoo.
-Operate various pieces of farm equipment.
-Assist with hosting events.
-Water/drag arenas
-Assist with routine veterinary visits and farrier visits.
-Report to Farm Manager/Barn Manager/Maintenance Manager.
-Alert management of sick horses or changes in behavior, broken equipment, client needs, potential hazards or repairs needed on site.

Job Type: Full time or Part Time

Schedule:
-4 to 8 hour shifts
-Weekends needed, holidays to be shared between staff

Education:
-High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:
-Driver's License (Required)

Skills needed:
-Interpersonal skills: Must have excellent interpersonal skills, as they interact professionally with owners, managers, students, employees, and equine personnel on a regular basis. Must maintain strong relationships with the clients.
-Mechanically inclined: Skill with basic tools and equipment.
-Physical and mental stamina: May need to assist in lifting up to 75 pounds, fixing, or manipulating heavy equipment or machinery. May need to assist horses that are sick or injured . Must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
-Shows and events: If the barn is involved in or hosting an event, competitive show, or race the barn hand shall help with preparation for such an event.
-Equine Knowledge: Must have knowledge in all aspects of horsemanship and possess a solid working knowledge of basic medical treatments, equine nutritional needs, and equine behavioral management techniques. They must also be very familiar with the breeds of horses under their care, as each breed comes with its own specific quirks and history.

***Requirements***
-Must have at least 1 years of experience as a barn hand.
-Prior horse ownership or volunteer experience at a local riding stable.
-Must live 30 min or less from Plane View Farm.
