Happy Tails to Marvin, Flip & Francis (!!!), Jade and Willowisp & Digit.

We are so happy these floofies found their furever homes with amazing humans. Flip & Francis were our longest residents and we are thrilled to see them finally at home.

With that being said, our current adoption no. is 253!

We are at Open Market today 10-2pm serving cold brew and coolers. We also have a special guest in our tent... ❤️🐾 - they will be hanging with us to talk about their big fundraiser event coming up Oct 5th with some of their raffle baskets and info. Stop by and say hi!

👑SHE'S BAAAACK👑

Temporarily at least! Former resident cat lounge member, Clementine, will be in the lounge this week while her mama (Purrista's owner) is on vacation!

Clemmy was in the very first group of cats to join us at the cafe. For a while she ran the show in the lounge - showing the new kitties the ropes and keeping them in line!

If you've missed Clem, or never got the chance to meet her, stop on by the cafe this week and say hello with a gentle head scratch! 🍊🐾

We have some new catnip bag toys on display along with our other cool merch. A great gift for both you and your cat 😹 it's the little things ...

We are open meow and the Cat Lounge opens at 11am with plenty of openings to visit the kitties. Check us out until 7pm tonite.

Reminder: Celebrate Erie is going on starting today until Sunday. It operates from 5th-10th St. which means our road is blocked to go across State St. HOWEVER you can still pull into 8th by our Catfe and use street parking purr usual - or you can utilize parking nearby and walk. After 4pm, you are also welcome to park in the NW Bank parking lot across the street.

The Chalk Walk, Food & Local Vendors with music scattered around starting at Noon. ✨

✨FREE (and fun) EVENT • Thurs, Aug 15 @ 5:30pm✨

Who doesn't love free... and fun? This rare opportunity only comes during special times and for this particular time it's to help our PAWsome friends 🐾❤️

Join us while we host live music by tomorrow starting at 5:30p while we host a volunteer and foster mixer to get people educated and interested in helping out a fantastic animal rescue organization!

We'll also have free snacks and our signature Purrista blend coffee, an activity and a chance to win small prizes. Not to mention just meeting some cool people who love animals.

Shani's cat also hopes you'll join the fun festivities (they are not playing the guitar tomorrow, unfortunately 😹)

You can reserve your spot on our website or just show up! We'll have activities on both cat cafe and cat lounge sides until 7pm. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to all who stopped by the Cat Lounge this past Thursday with as Exec. Director Megan and Cat Center Mgr. Angela discussed cat litter box problems. The more you know 💫

The next education and workshop will be this Thursday - at the Cat Lounge - which is another free event! Come learn about what BYC does with rescues for both cats & dogs, how fostering works and how you can help, join the events team or volunteer to help the cause!

The event starts at 5:30pm at the Catfe, free refreshments and live music by , crafts and chances to win prizes.

How bittersweet as Abby has been with Purrista since we first opened in Feb. 2022 and we are so thankful for her pawsome-ness these past couple of years. Abby! Thank you so much for your amazing vibe and all of our 246 adopted kitty angels thank you, too 🐾 Happy Tails, young lady 🤍

Abby will be studying Meteorology so please visit her today at the Catfe and wish her the best! She'll be there at 3pm today.

Join us for another free BYC's Sit, Stay & Learn Ed. Series:
"Oh Sh*t, My Cat Went Outside the Box!"

Because You Care's Exec. Director Megan Duckett, also a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and BYC's Angela Pulling, will be discussing helpful tips about what happens when your cat decides to go to the bathroom everywhere except the box.

This in-person, educational course will be held in the Cat Lounge with a 45 minute discussion plus room for Q&A after.

Some of my team and I vended at an event yesterday hosted by of Erie called Cat-Vocacy.

Besides the amazing vendors there to rep (I'll tag them at the bottom of this blurb), they invited the - who is such a notable person in the cat/kitten rescue-verse - that Purrista was so honored to have been asked to vend.

Kitten Lady spoke about kitten rescue, how important it is to foster and the importance on assessing your cats health - among so many more vital topics.

A few of our Purristas were happy to attend and be a part of this pawesome opportunity!

The first photo is Hannah Shaw aka speaking in front of many that attended > our pop up tent outside with some fun merch we brought to support the Catfe > the awesome flash tats we got done to support the cause.

Purr usual, it was always a pleasure to hang out with on such a beautiful day.

It was very nice to meet some of you (and always a pleasure to see those locals ☺️)

And it was always so nice to see you .71 💜🐾

We do have most of the merch seen in the photos at our Catfe. If you don't see something - ask the barista to see if we have it upstairs. We are open 9a-7pm M-F this week (cat lounge opens at 11am).
