We are adding another pack program day!

Tuesdays will now be a pack day. The pack program consists of group running, play time, and some basic obedience including recall. The dogs participating run and socialize with our resident Weimaraner pack. The Weimaraners have an established hierarchy amongst them. Outside dogs recognize this and generally do well knowing they are not the dominant ones in the pack. Many high profile trainers have used this technique which has proven to be quite effective for dogs who may not do well in a normal daycare setting. The pack groups are smaller than a normal daycare group and typically pack dogs log more steps as they run in the 20 acre bark park.

Pack days will now be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For more information on our pack program please contact us.

King is a Lucky Dog pack dog that is looking for a new home. From the owner:

King is a fun loving pup who absolutely loves to play outside and go for walks! He needs a home where he can be active and be outside during the day and play. He is kid friendly and gets along with most other dogs. He is very friendly and loves people. King is a neutered, 4 year old pit mix and he is up to date on vaccines.

Our next batch of adoptions comes with a special "thank you" to Lucky Dog Stay and Play, where these three dogs are among the many they have graciously cared for until adopted.

We bet many of you who have followed his journey will give a happy cheer to see that gentle, timid Lotto has found his home. Heather and Matt were careful to make sure that this floppy-eared shepherd mix would get along with baby Fiona as well as the cats (both owned and fostered) in the family. Now named Banksy, we hear that he has enjoyed meeting extended family and is working on his social butterfly skills. !

Our Goofball of the Month award goes to hound Otis, now known as Tucker, who won the hearts of Brandi and especially Jeremy. Kids Emmet and Stevie soon caught on when Tucker displayed his awesome goofiness at home with his delighted facial expressions and um, generous body language. !

TIL that a red Heeler/Aussie mix like Rodney is called a Texas Heeler! That explains Rodney's super affectionate personality and his silky soft coat. Mandi and Craig lost their Aussie named Brinkley a while back and were looking for a new family member to join their three young kids. They began fostering a Happy Bark dog who wasn't quite the right fit, until Rodney danced into their lives with his smiling, smoochy face. He had lots of fans in the staff at Lucky Dog. No wonder!

Bogey is a Lucky Dog daycare dog that is looking for a new home. From the owner:

Bogey is a male German Shepherd and he was born on July 10, 2023. He has all his vaccinations and flea prevention. He is crate trained, potty trained, and doggy door trained. He is a sweet boy and is good with kids. Bogey does chase cats, but he does not have any other behaviors than normal puppy behaviors.

My sister left him with me when she moved to Pittsburgh, and I am looking for a home for him because I am disabled and cannot provide him the exercise he needs. I would prefer a home with experience with German Shepherds or other large breed dogs and a fenced yard or land. Bogey is not neutered, but he has an appointment to be neutered on June 17th at Erie Animal Clinic for $214.

Our Wednesday bus route is starting to get pretty full, we had 23 riders today! If you are interested in getting your dog signed up, or are already an existing customer that uses the bus service, please remember to reserve a spot as the capacity is limited. We also offer a bus route on Tuesdays.

We are currently looking for experienced dog handler's (preferably, 2 years minimum) to join our expanding business/team! Responsibilities include intake and outtake of dogs, greeting owners with a smile, feeding, bathing, monitoring, cleaning of indoor play areas, as well as daily kennel cleaning. You may also be asked to perform other duties while on the job such as deep cleaning the facility, lawn care and various outdoor work. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for our canine guests as well as our staff is of the most importance. Upbeat, positive attitudes are what we are looking for in a candidate, as well as those who have an open availability (weekdays/weekends/some holidays), and those who are looking for 20-40 hours of work per week.

Lucky Dog Stay and Play will now be offering puppy kindergarten classes. The first class has 5 remaining spots left and will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8am - 12pm for 5 weeks starting April 23rd. Puppy kindergarten will be $40/session totaling $400 for 10 sessions. The classes will focus on teaching behaviors such as leash manners, preventing resource guarding, recall, gate manners, healthy play, nail trims, group walks, and simple commands like off, leave it, lay down, etc. The classes will be offered to any puppy under the age of 1 year old. We are thrilled to announce a new endeavor at Lucky Dog!

Lucky Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation is a nonprofit 501 C3. We will be partnering with Happy Bark and hosting various fundraising events. Our current goal will be having a separate building that will be staffed by employees and volunteers for the functions of the nonprofit, and to increase the number of rescue dogs we can house during their rehabilitation period.

Mission Statement: Strive to rehome rescue dogs with a focus on evaluation and behavior through the utilization of ample acreage prior to finding their forever home.

*****Update!! The lost Daschund is back home with his owner. Thanks to Hailie who is a handler here at Lucky Dog for going out of her way to make sure this little guy was safe! ****

FOUND DOG: A dark brown daschund was found about an hour ago at the intersection of Lake Pleasant and Pine Avenue. He was brought to Lucky Dog Stay and Play with no personal belongings or tags. Please share and spread the word so we can find this pups home.
