If anyone is missing a female beagle, she was last seen heading toward Fishery Park on Zane Whitson. We tried to catch her but were not able to get her. Hopefully, she makes it home safe.

Please make sure that your dog or cat is on heartworm prevention and that your dogs are up to date on their leptospirosis vaccination. The recent flooding may result in an increased risk for these diseases, which thrive in standing water and wet soil. Most dogs who are vaccinated yearly receive lepto in their protocol. If you're not sure, check their vaccine record or contact your veterinarian..

A veterinarian in Kentucky called our office and offered to board 2 horses at no charge for anyone needing to due to the flood. His office is about 2.5 hours away. We have his contact info if anyone needs it.

We are asking for donations for the Unicoi County Animal Shelter. Here are some things that they need immediately in order to get the shelter cleaned up so that they can reopen: contractor bags, lights, snow shovels,respirator masks, hazmat suits, head lamps, extension cords, heavy duty surge protectors, gloves, dehumidifiers and industrial fans You can drop off at the Erwin Moose Lodge or we can get it to them if needed. Please share!

Unicoi Animal Hospital is hiring for a full time Kennel Attendant/Veterinary Assistant. Hours would be Monday through Friday with one day off during the week. Some holidays and weekends required. Duties include assisting with the care and treatment of boarding and hospitalized pets. Please come by the clinic to apply.
