About Karen: Over thirty years riding, teaching, training and coaching junior and adult riders for competition in hunter/jumper, equitation, dressage and combined training from local shows and events to USEF A rated venues in the Midwest and up and down the East Coast. I have had three simlar businesses over the years, but I am new to North Carolina. My personal riding background includes equitation, hunter/jumper, three-day through preliminary and schooling into third level dressage. Patient and systematic. Pony Club and foxhunting experience. Expertise: Equitation from Novice to Medal Level, including cross training to provide a broad-based education preparing the student to enjoy and excel in a variety of equestrian disciplines. Solid classical training techniques are employed with no use of gimmicks or quick fixes. Extensive experience with greenies and project remakes.
Equestrian Education: My equestrian education is founded in the philosophies of classical riding via the teachings of Bert DeNemethy, William Steinkraus, Gordon Wright, George Morris and Vladimir S. Littauer. Trainers and Clinicians contributing hands on to my education: U.S. Pony Club, Wayne Carroll (AHSA Horseman of the Year and inductee into the National Show Jumping Hall of Fame) Frank Carroll (inductee into the National Show Jumping Hall of Fame) Kitty Beveridge, Grant Schneidman, Kathy McWilliams, Regina Lorenz, Raul DeLeon, Steve Martin, Jean Froissard, Charles DeKunffy, Joe Fargis, Denny Emerson, Bert DeNemethy and Michael Poulin.
