MY taxidermy project is a vivid depiction of the raw intensity and survival instincts present in the natural world. We’ve captured a dramatic moment between a cougar and a deer, symbolizing the predator-prey relationship that is fundamental to the ecosystem.

How I Made It:
Preparation: I began by carefully sourcing specimens that were ethically obtained, ensuring they would serve as realistic models for this project.

Preservation: Using traditional taxidermy techniques, I preserved the skins, treating them to prevent decay. This step involved careful skinning and treating the hides to maintain their integrity.

Mounting: I used a wireframe or foam mannequin to recreate the natural body shapes of the animals. The positioning was crucial to convey the tension and motion of the scene.

Composition: I meticulously arranged the cougar in the act of attacking the deer, capturing the raw energy and power of the moment. Adding natural elements like foliage and ground cover further enhanced the realism and grounded the scene in a believable setting.
