Obedience Training. I love working with dogs!
Thank you for watching my video 🙂 there is nothing more fulfilling than helping others while I learn more about myself. Each dog I work with blesses me more and more.
This is a little cocker spaniel sh*tsu that I’m training to be more social and confident. Notice the nose to nose interaction (the briefer the better when first meeting) but you can see when she looks to me right after. She is looking for answers to the interaction. I encourage her with verbal praise (that’s her reward) for looking to me and good behavior, and it builds some confidence. Every positive interaction is a step in the right direction. #dogtraining #dogs #guidedog #peticularlyperfect #grateful
Hello and good evening! Many dogs are so distracted that they can become obsessive about sniffing wildly and pulling in every direction. I spoke recently about idea and exercises that can help you to connect better with your dog. If your dog doesn’t listen to you when you call their name, it’s likely that their brain is in overdrive and unstable. If you allow it then you are encouraging it. Basically you are teaching your dog that it can do whatever he wants to do. There must be feedback. Asking for a behavior without a reward is boring for a dog, especially if the behavior is difficult. The more difficult the behavior the bigger the payoff should be. There is an economics here and we will go into more detail about that in a later post. Thank you for watching! 🐶
Working with aggressive and reactive dogs.
This is a follow up of my last video about reactive/distracted dogs on walks. This dog is not just distracted and didn’t pay much attention to its owner on walks, but he was also very reactive and aggressive towards any dog he saw, even from a long distance away. Here he is with his owner at the begging of our training sessions. Watch closely and you can see when he begins to react and then lunge.
Get your dog to focus and build a stronger connection with your furry friend
Sometimes it's hard to get your dog to focus on you on walks. With a little patientce, along with creating strucure for your dog. He will trust you more and want to look to you for answers, rather than making the wrong decisions and behaving badly, he can look to you to show him a new bahavior, look to you for some affection and praise and maybe a pat on the head or a food reward. It's all rewards for him. It comes from you directly to him. Stay tuned for more videos and thank you for watching!
