Hi -
I just wanted to thank all the staff members for all your hard work. ❤️🙏🏼😊
We did a neuter this weekend and everyone was so polite and helpful. ⭐️
My little (fat) kitten, Mr. Wittles did great. I was worried because his brother died in surgery.
Thank you and have a great holiday! 🎄⭐️

This summer be sure to follow these safety tips to keep your pets cool and safe! If you suspect heat stroke, or any other health concerns, contact us right away at 760-743-0973!
Fireworks, picnics and other Fourth of July traditions can be great fun for people; but all of the festivities can be frightening and even dangerous for animals. Noisy fireworks and other celebrations can startle animals and cause them to run away; holiday foods can be unhealthy; summer heat and travel can be dangerous; and potentially dangerous debris can end up lying on the ground where pets can eat or play with it.
Whether or not you're planning your own Independence Day celebration, it's important to take precautions to keep your pets safe both during and after Fourth of July festivities.
Our offices will be CLOSED on Tuesday, July 4th 2023 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. We will reopen on Wednesday, July 5th. Thank you, and have a safe and happy 4th of July!
Hey everyone! We have openings today if your pet is in need of any care Basic or Emergent come on down or give us a call!
While we all give thanks to all the amazing father's in our lives today, let's also stop to recognize all the veterinary staff on Veterinary Appreciation Day. In 2015, Trupanion created Veterinary Appreciation Day to celebrate the critical role that veterinary professionals play in our lives. From the front desk to technicians to veterinarians, veterinary professionals dedicate countless hours providing compassionate care for our pets, even throughout the most challenging of times. With that, we would like to stop and thank all of our staff for all the hard work and dedication they provide for us. We are so grateful for you!
Is your dog protected from Leptospirosis? Before you begin your summer festivities, be sure to stop by and get your dog immunized today! We offer Lepto vaccines for as little as $40 (with current exam). Call us today at 760-743-0973 to schedule an appointment!
It's that time of year when we start seeing allergies in our beloved pets flare up. If you see any symptoms of allergies, call us right away at 760-743-0973 for immediate care!
It's that time of year when pesky foxtails come out and become a huge danger for our four legged friends. Foxtails love paws & can easily become embedded between toes. Foxtails can easily dig into any part of the body. Embedded foxtails can cause abscesses, pain and death. If inhaled they can puncture a lung. They can go up the nose and migrate to the brain. If your pet is suffering from foxtails getting embedded in any part of their body, DO NOT WAIT. Call us right away at 760-743-0973 so we can help safely remove them for you. Our prices are half that of an emergency clinic or urgent care!
On Memorial Day, we remember those soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and for us, the people of the United States. Only 0.4% of the U.S. population currently serves in the military. Looking back at everyone who has ever served, the number jumps up to 7.3%, but still a very low number given the great sacrifices the men and women of the military make for all of us. Maybe that is why, on Memorial Day — a day to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country — the country celebrates with sales and shopping.
Putting that aside, there is also the less obvious soldier, one who also risks and gives their life for our freedom. A soldier that can’t speak for themselves. A brave soldier who too, is remembered this Memorial Day: the war dog.
Canine soldier memorial, featuring upside-down food bowls and harness
Dogs have served in the military in every major conflict dating back to “Sergeant Stubby” of the 102nd Infantry who went from mascot to hero during WWI after being smuggled into battle by Private Conway. Stubby detected enemy gas, barked out warnings when enemy troops were near and located wounded soldiers on the battlefield.
Since then the role of the military dog has advanced and become much more sophisticated, planned, and trained for.
This Memorial Day, let’s remember these great dogs and their handlers who lost their lives, so that our dogs and their handlers (that would be us) may roam free in this great country.

All of us at Parkway Pet Clinic want to wish all the moms of pets out there a very Happy Mother's day!
Mayday for Mutts is a day to spread the word about all the great things that mixed breed dogs have to offer, promote adoption from animal shelters, and show everyone that a dog’s individual personality matters more than their pedigree. To show your support, consider donating, volunteering, or adopting from a local rescue or shelter!
Today is Cinco de Mayo! This holiday is in recognition of the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. While not a holiday commonly associated with pets, if you are anything like us, you are always looking for an excuse to celebrate any holiday with your dog. Visit https://www.petsafe.net/learn/throw-a-cinco-de-mayo-party-for-your-pup for some amazing ideas on how to celebrate with your 4-legged friend!
Did you know we microchip pets for just $35? A microchip provides secure, reliable, and permanent identification, which greatly increases the likelihood that your pet if lost, will be returned home to you. Call us today at (760) 743-0973 to schedule an appointment!
Happy Easter from all of us at Affordable Veterinary Care! Please remember Children's Easter baskets should always be kept out of reach from pets. Just like us, pets are tempted by holiday treats. Candy and chocolate can affect a pets' nervous system if ingested, and xylitol, an ingredient found in sugar-free candies and gum, can be toxic to dogs and cats.
WALK-IN availability anytime between 9:30am and 3:00pm no appointment necessary.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us at Parkway Pet Clinic! Celebrations are fun for us, but it is best to keep potential hazards and toxins out of your pet’s way. Below, you’ll find APCC’s top tips for keeping your furry friends safe, happy and healthy! Shamrocks: These plants are not appropriate for pets and can cause stomach upset, drooling and head shaking when small amounts are ingested. If large amounts are ingested, there are more severe concerns such as a decrease in the blood calcium level and kidney damage. Green Beer: When a pet gets into an unattended or spilled drink, they may show signs of depression and drunkenness within about an hour. This will cause difficulty walking and stomach upset. Dogs who have ingested large amounts of alcohol may have a decreased gag reflex and are at risk for aspiration pneumonia if they inhale the vomit into their lungs. Irish Soda Bread: This bread does contain raisins which can cause kidney failure in dogs.
All of us at Parkway Pet Clinic wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Parkway family!
Happy Halloween from all of us at Affordable Veterinary Care! The ASPCA gives us some helpful pointers to keep our pets safe this holiday. Visit https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/general-pet-care/halloween-safety-tips for more information!
October 16 is National Feral Cat Day, so start practicing your alley cat strut and get your feline friends together. This is a day to celebrate cats of all stripes, no matter where they call home. Feral cats have been stigmatized the world over, but thanks to this holiday, we can change how we see these lovable nomads. NATIONAL FERAL CAT DAY ACTIVITIES 1 . Take part in a Trap-Neuter-Return effort Anyone can make a big difference by taking part in a Trap-Neuter-Return effort. This entails humanely trapping a feral cat in a boxtrap, bringing it to the San Diego Affordable Spay & Neuter Clinic to be spayed or neutered, then letting it go in its wild home. This keeps the cat safe, but is also an investment in the future to ensure the feral cat population remains contained. 2. Adopt a cat TNR is a great method for controlling pet populations, but if adoption is a possible method for you, this is also an instrumental way to make a difference in the lives of feral cats. On October 16, there will be several shelters hosting adopt-a-thons, so find one near you and bring home a new member of the family. 3. Volunteer with Alley Cat Allies Alley Cat Allies, which formed in 1990, has done amazing work to spread awareness about this problem and develop solutions for it. Through the organization you can help hold spay/neuter clinics and food/supply drives, encourage official governmental proclamations regarding TNR policies, and more.
St. Patrick’s Day is nearly here, and many are getting into the spirit to celebrate the Irish holiday! While St. Patty’s Day is typically known for fun, high energy festivities, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) wants to help make sure that your furry friends don’t get into too much mischief. Be wary of Shamrocks - they can cause stomach upset, drooling and head shaking when small amounts are ingested. If large amounts are ingested, there are more severe concerns such as a decrease in the blood calcium level and kidney damage. Remember, Dogs who have ingested large amounts of alcohol may have a decreased gag reflex and are at risk for aspiration pneumonia if they inhale the vomit into their lungs. Always keep your eye one your beverage and do not place it on the floor or on a low table where pets can have easy access. If you cannot always monitor your pet, it’s best to put them in a quiet, safe room until the party has come to an end. Irish soda bread is a popular food during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Be aware that this bread does contain raisins which can cause kidney failure in dogs. It’s best to feed furry friends they’re own veterinarian-approved healthy treats during any celebrations.
