Happy Veteran's Day to all who serve and have served. That includes one of our very own.

Sandra served in the Navy as a Corpsman helping her fellow man. Today she serves as one of our foster leads, helping our fosters with everything from getting started with their foster journey; helping with medical cases (she saved BB, Buttercup Mac and many more); and is a HUGE TNR advocate. We are so incredibly lucky to have her as part of our family!

Thanksgiving Food Drive For Kitten Rescue!
Can you help? 🥺

Hello Friends! I volunteer for Saving One Life, an animal rescue for cats and their kittens. It’s been a busy season and we’re putting out a plea for kitten and cat food. We need both wet and dry. In the last 6 months we’ve rescued kittens from car washes, trash cans, back allies, under abandoned trailers and parking lots. Many of these cats come to us starving and malnourished, and theses hungry rescues eat A LOT! We give these animals second chances, provide medical care, and find them good homes. It’s heart breaking, but also very rewarding. This Thanksgiving season, we are looking to get help with food donations so our feline friends don't have to go hungry anymore.

Donations can be dropped off at Petsmart Escondido or I can pick up larger donations from your doorstep. Please DM me.

Press 1 if you have a 10-year-old Cat and your 15-year-old son has suddenly become allergic and you need to find the Cat a new home right away.

Press 2 if you are moving today and need to immediately place your 8 year-old Cat.

Press 3 if you have three Cats, had a baby and want to get rid of your Cats because you are the only person in the world to have a baby and Cats at the same time.

Press 4 if you just got a brand new Kitten and your old Cat is having problems adjusting so you want to get rid of the old one right away.

Press 5 if your little Kitten has grown up and is no longer small and cute and you want to trade it in for a new model.

Press 6 if you want an Unpaid Volunteer to come to your home TODAY and pick up the Cat you no longer want but you've had for years and you just cannot wait a single day.

Press 7 if you have been feeding and caring for a “stray” Cat(s) for the last three years, are moving, and suddenly determine it’s not your Cat(s).

Press 8 if your Cat is sick and needs a vet but you need the money for your vacation.

Press 14 if you are calling at 6 a.m. to make sure you wake me up before I have to go to work so you can drop a Cat off on your way to work.

Press 15 to leave us an anonymous garbled message, letting us know you have left a Cat in our yard in the middle of January, which is in fact, better than just leaving the Cat with no message.

Press 16 if you are going to get angry because we are not going to take your Cat that you have had for fifteen years, because it is not our responsibility.

Press 18 if you’re going to get angry because the Volunteers had the audacity to go on vacation and leave the Cat in care of a trusted volunteer who is not authorized to take your personal pet.

Press 19 if you want one of our PERFECTLY trained, housebroken, kid and Cat friendly purebred Cat that we have an abundance of.

Press 20 if you want us to take your Cat that has a slight aggression problem, i.e. has only bitten a few people.

Press 21 if you have already called once and been told we don’t take personal surrenders but thought you would get a different person this time with a different answer.

Press 22 if you want us to use space that would go to a stray to board your personal Cat while you are on vacation, free of charge, of course.

Press 23 if it is Christmas Eve or Easter morning and you want me to deliver an eight week old Cat to your house by 6:30 am before your kids wake up.

Press 24 if you have bought your children a duckling, chick or baby bunny for Easter and it is now Christmas and no longer cute.

Press 25 if you want us to take your female Cat who has already had many litters, but we can’t spay her because she is pregnant again and it is against your religion.

Press 26 if you’re lying to make one of our younger volunteers feel bad and take your personal pet off your hands.

Press 27 if you have done “everything” to housebreak your Cat and have had no success but you don’t want to crate the Cat because it is cruel.

Press 28 if you didn’t listen to the message asking for an evening phone number and you left your work number when all volunteers are also working and you are angry because no one called you back.

Press 29 if you need a Kitten immediately and cannot wait because today is your daughter’s birthday and you forgot when she was born.

Press 30 if your Cat's coat doesn’t match your new furniture and you need a different color or breed.

Press 31 if your new love doesn’t like your Cat and you are too stupid to get rid of the new friend (who will dump you in the next
month anyway) instead of the Cat.

Press 32 if you went through all these ‘options’ and didn’t hear enough. This press will connect you to the sounds of tears being shed by one of our Volunteers who is holding a discarded old Cat while the Vet mercifully frees him from the grief of missing his family.”

Archie Jax, a sweet 10 week old kitten in our care, crashed post anesthesia while getting prepped for a routine neuter. His heart stopped beating, and the amazing medical staff Feral Cat Coalition rushed into action providing life-saving CPR. At this time, we are unsure why he had that severe reaction to the anesthesia so he is receiving diagnostic care at Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital so we will continue to update as we learn more 💙 Every life matters and every heart deserves to continue ticking ❤

FeLV( Feline Leukemia) momma and her kitties 💪😻
I have been caring for & learning from this little family the last 10 days (hence why I have been MIA). Unfortunately, FeLV in cats is terminal and only 2 kittens from the litter of 6 are still alive... and I mean ALIVE! These little ones live life to the fullest every single day!
Truthfully, we don't know when will be their last day or ours for that matter, but having them around has made me appreciate life and those around me a little more ❤

Thank you Coco Pebbles, Honey Comb Love, & Cinnamon Toast. I love you guys soo soo soo much! Keep kicking butt! 😘🥰

Meet this beautiful Sphynx girl I tested earlier this week after she was saved from a bad situation. She is now in Arizona with the other part of the Saving One Life Team, being cared in a foster home until she is ready for adoption. A true forever & loving home this time 🏡💕 ❤

❤ Black Beauty (BB) Update! ❤

BB is my Saving One Life - San Diego foster that had to be hospitalized a couple weeks ago and then needed crital care at home following her vet stay which included being in an Incubator, being given subcutaneous fluids to stay hydrated, antibiotics, pain medication, & syringe feeding her.
Thankfully, she survived and is doing much better! She has even decided to be a feline foster mom to Blue and Jazz whom are two orphaned kittens that were rescued by Debby B. also from Saving One Life! Thank you to SOL, leadership, and everyone whom donated to make her recovery possible 🙏❤ She is still on her journey to being 100% well and ready for her forever home, but is getting closer and closer 🥰

My foster BB had a nearly fatal emergency and was hospitalized last week. She is back home with me and I have been doing intensive care to support her recovery. ❤

UPDATE:
Black Beauty was hospitalized and under the great care of Veterinary Specialty Hospital for the last 24 hours. They closely monitored Black Beauty after determining that she indeed had a tracheal tear.
We presume this was an unintended result of extubating her after alter. We are just thankful that her wonderful foster mom, Sandra was able to discern this was not a less severe / more common complication to a spay.
Black Beauty was able to be discharged back into our care but she will remain in an oxygen chamber for several days as we wait and hope that the tear will fully heal on its own with no further complications.
Once fully healed, Black Beauty will still need to be sedated for her dental with extractions but we will be delaying that intervention to allow her trachea to heal and to take any / all precautions for such a beautiful, sweet girl.
The total cost of Black Beauty's hospitalization was $1644.34 and we expect her dental will be around $500. Adding to that, we have her standard vetting (spay, vaccines, etc.). The total for Black Beauty will be over $2,000 with an adoption fee of merely $100.
Please consider donating to the costs of Black Beauty's care. Additionally, please send your positive thoughts to Black Beauty for a speedy recovery, Sandra, her amazing foster mom who will continue her intensive care and the fabulous staff at Veterinary Specialty Hospital.

Black Beauty is a beautiful young lady who has already had a rough life. She is FIV+ and scheduled for a much-needed dental. She was spayed early last week and things got worse. After a few days of recovery, Black Beauty's breathing became labored and she was clearly in distress.
Thankfully, the foster was monitoring her closely and communicating with our medical team. She was brought to emergency veterinary hospital and admitted for monitoring and oxygen therapy. 2055 Montiel Rd Unit 104, San Marcos, CA 92069
During the night, they were able to complete x-rays which showed air was escaping her trachea due to a tear. This can be life-threatening and she is not out of the woods.
Black Beauty is still at the emergency vet and will need to be on oxygen therapy for several days. Hopefully, the oxygen therapy will continue to ease her breathing and allow time for the tear to naturally heal. She is also being treated for an upper respiratory infection related to this.
She is not out of the woods and even once she is healed from the tear, she will still need a dental cleaning with extractions.
Please consider sending her positive prayers and donating to her care as our expenses have well exceeded $2,000 at this point.
