he had to spend endless hours in the saddle, in the barn, travelling to competitions, perfecting the skills needed to get her to the top of the game. Now a Breeder and trainer of an Olympic line of Swedish Warmbloods, owner/ trainer of stallion Valance out of Vermouth 858, and class one Swedish mare, Ceylonna, out of Ceylon. She has been a horse trainer for 22+ years and was in the Equestrian Sports Program at Magee high school from 9th Grade through 11th Grade, which enabled her to start her horse training buisness at the age of 15 in Southlands, Vancouver. She then moved abroad and was hired for Club Med Playa Blanca as a horse riding instructor and boutique model in Costa Careyes, Mexico. After a year of working there, she then opened Mega Arte Galleria showcasing native Huichol, and Mexican hand crafts and her own watercolor paintings as well as local Artists one in Puerto Vallarta for a year, and subsequently another one in Vancouver B.C. In 1997 she moved to San Diego, CA and opened Mega Arte Riding Academy first in Rancho Santa Fe, and then in 1999 she bought her first ranch and opened her five acre Training center/Riding Facility in the quaint riding village of Elfin Forest, where students as young as two to adult, can learn the Art of Dressage, Hunter-Jumper, Cross Country from an Olympic quality coach, and also enjoy amazing nature guided trail riding on our 15 wonderful school horses and ponies. The farm is also a 501.c 3 Non profit Rescue Sanctuary and all proceeds go to caring for all kinds of animals, from ponies and horses, to a llama, goats and a sheep, that were starved and abused, or found at slaughter auctions with no hope,that Meg took in and Rehabilitated and continues to care for them for the rest of their natural lives. Mega Arte is much more than a Riding Academy, in Spanish it means the greatest Art, and to Meg the greatest Art is, the Art of Life. She also donates her time to Make A Wish Foundation, to kids suffering from or in remission from all kinds of childhood cancers, she and her assistants including Melanie Adams, a young teen student that was granted her wish of a horse and trainer through Make A Wish, and she chose Meg and an abused horse Jasmine that Meg had rescued from an auction, for two years her condition was extremely guarded she only had a 20 percent chance of beating and surviving her Hodgkins Lymphoma, which she did with courage and strength that she found with Meg and Jasmine during the two year gift. She is now with over 7 years of remission, and she still has her horse and her dream which Meg keeps alive by continuing to train her and Jasmine at no cost, and Mel helps as a volunteer assistant in summer Camp and Pony Parties in exchange for lessons on her Miracle horse Jasmine.
