**Fosters found! Thank you everyone for your enquiries**
SAFE Esperance is looking for carers for some lovely 6wk pups - these are 4 of them - there are 8 altogether. They have been with us for a couple of weeks to ensure they are healthy and eating well. We now need to separate them into smaller groups as they grow. If you are interested in fostering puppies while we look for their permanent homes we would love to hear from you.
Please send a message via our page.
**You may keep an eye on our website, as they will be available for enquiries to adopt as of late next week, ONLY through our enquiries portal (no messages for adoption please)** https://safe.org.au/find-a-dog/

HELP NEEDED βΌοΈ
A local Animal Management Facility has reached out to us for help. They have four beautiful dogs that they'd love to see rehomed - but we need volunteers to take them on until we can have them assessed and ready to adopt!
Are you interested in being a foster carer? Or currently am a foster and available?
We have little information on these dogs, but if theyre needing to be rehomed, we can assure you they have beautiful natures and want nothing more than to be loved again. We cannot guarantee if they are cat or dog friendly, but we will trial it with you, and if it's not a match, we can trial you with another!
Short descriptions are on each photo, please let us know if you can help give them a second chance!

KITTENS NOW AVAILABLE
We have a huge selection of kittens now available to adopt! Have you been thinking about a new addition to your family?
These little pitty patty paws will warm your home (and they'll be super thrilled to help you take down that Christmas tree and celebrate the New Year in with you, too! π) We have had a few litters and pregnant mother cats handed to us recently, and all have thrived in foster care. They're litter trained, been exposed to a range of other animals, and are ready to be adopted out into the world.
Thinking of adopting, but still considering? Have you considered fostering? We are also in desperate need to place incoming kittens, where you can watch them grow and thrive, and have your choice of the litter! You can message us for more information on fostering.

PEARL (EC1277)
Female, Domestic Short Hair
13 weeks (as at 27.12.23)
NAME: Pearl
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound with her siblings.
PERSONALITY: Quieter than her siblings, but playful, cuddly and very sweet!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Pearl loves to play with pretty much anything and enjoys spending time and play fighting with her siblings. She prefers quiet surroundings without any sudden movements or loud noises but once comfortable is cuddly and affectionate.
OTHER ANIMALS: Pearl gets on well with other friendly cats after gentle introduction. She would also be fine to live with a gentle, cat-savvy dog after gentle supervised introductions.
ESSENTIALS for Pearl:
** A quiet loving home where sheβs given time initially to settle in and get comfortable, then gets plenty of attention but is treated gently. She would go well with cat-savvy, older, gentle children who will play and engage with her on a daily basis.
** Pearl needs to be kept as an inside only cat or have access to a secure outside cat run.
COCO (EC1276)

π ROCKY
A young male Mastiff x, he is large and bouncy, so no small children please, preferably an adult home. He is a lovely dog, but needs to learn some manners, so a carer who can provide strong boundaries and consistency will help him to settle. He is dog social, untested with cats, and needs daily walks/stimulation to keep him active and occupied and a carer who is around more often than not if possible. A fenced yard is a must, as he previously liked to take himself on adventures when he didn't get enough attention. He really likes women but can be unsure of men so introductions need to be worked on. He responds well to training and is a quick learner.
If you can help we would desperately love to hear from you! If you've ever considered fostering, now is the time we need you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR ππββ¬π
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
We thank our Coordinators who tirelessly ensure SAFE Esperance continues to save animals throughout the year.
We thank our foster carers, who take in cats, kittens, dogs and puppies to give them a bed to sleep in and a roof over their heads. Your open hearts mean hundreds of homeless animals have found a family to share a Christmas meal with.
We thank our volunteers who help us with fundraising events, collections of donations and transporting adopted animals to their new families.
And finally we thank the community - you are what allows us to keep running and saving lives of dogs and cats! Without generous donations and foster carers, we would not be where we are today.
Thank you all, and have a Happy New Year π

CARE FOUND
MOTHER CAT AND KITTENS NEED CARE
We have been given a mother cat, who has a very sweet and friendly nature, and her two kittens that are approximately 12 weeks old.
They've had a rocky start, therefore can be shy around humans. We are seeking a foster carer who is gentle, patient and perhaps has previous experience dealing with timid kittens. A carer who can show them that they do not have to be afraid anymore β€οΈ
The kittens will strictly need to be crated, or in an enclosed room, until they come out of their shells. The mother cat is eager for some time away, and she will happily lounge on your couch, while you work with her kittens. She likes it to be known that they're getting too old for her and she enjoys the breaks (us parents can all relate to that!).
If you'd like to foster mumma and her two kittens, let us know! We're very low on space this holiday season, and we'd love for a carer to begin working with the kittens sooner rather than later πββ¬

WASABI NEEDS FOSTERING π
Wasabi is a 1 year old large Kelpie/hound/Cattledog breed who is on his last days at kennels. We need to find him a foster home immediately to house him in!
He is very loving, trainable, and excitable. Due to his size and age, we ask that he goes to a home with no small children (he loves jumping greets, he cannot contain excitement in seeing humans!)
He can live with other dogs, but has not yet been cat tested (if you have a cat or small animals, please still enquire, we are desperate to try him anywhere!)
Even if you can foster for a week, or for a few months, we are eager to hear from you. We still have a few dogs in kennels that we need to break out, but we've had no interest - Wasabi is running out of days and we need a miracle!
12/23/2023
FOUND - she returned- we think she realised foster care in a nice home wasn't so bad - clever girl π
SAFE Esperance rescue Lisa has escaped her yard - she is very timid and will be confused as she has only just gone into care - was seen on Brazier Street heading for town. Please call Janine on 0407 772 886 if you see her. We are very concerned for her safety - she has recently had pups. Thank you

LOOKING FOR A COMPANION OVER CHRISTMAS?
Better yet, are you looking for a furry companion to love on and cuddle, for FREE?
Fostering is free!
We have a mother cat and kittens and numerous dogs desperately seeking a place to stay over the holidays. With a lot of regular carers away, our volunteers are stretched to the limit trying to house all of these animals.
If you have a spare room, large crate, laundry, catio or yard, we'd love to hear from you! Fostering is super rewarding, it means taking in an animal and watch them thrive and grow. You can have them for as little or long as you like, until they are adopted.
Empty lap? Could have a purring cat. Empty couch? How about a dog to cuddle? Empty yard? A dog would do anything to be bounding around the space and taking in the fresh air from kennels.
If you can help in any way to foster, let us know!

**CARE FOUND FOR ZEUS ONLY**
URGENT - BEFORE CHRISTMAS CARE NEEDED
We are out of time π We both desperately need a place to stay - our options have run out and we just need a roof over our head, and a bed to crash on. Fostered seperately.
If you have thought about fostering - please get in contact. We cannot express how desperate we are right now, with more dogs coming in before Christmas, we have nowhere to put them. We thrive on foster carers, please help us.
If you cannot foster, please share far and wide our calls for help.

KITTENS FOR ADOPTION πββ¬
We survived and now thrive! That should be the motto these kittens come with. Found dumped in a rubbish bin, SAFE took them in and moved them to Perth for the best chance of adoption.
As any dumped kitten would be, they were unsure of trusting humans, but their foster carer has introduced them to domestic life beautifully and they are now thriving!
All male kittens - Saint Strawpurry, Prof. Purrnapple, Sir Avocato and Mr Purrtato. Our unique situation and coat meant we needed to have unique names!
All four kittens are fully litter trained, enjoying indoor life and their fun personalities are shining through. They love playing with toys, each other, and the resident cats. They are curious kittens, and so would be good with a slow introduction to other cat-friendly pets and children.
Excited to meet one of them? Let us know, we'd love to set up a meet for you! All four are available to adopt now πββ¬π
Esperance Ranger asked SAFE if we knew these puppies - we don't. Do you know them - there are now 3 male pups at the pound found around the bridge on Sims Street that need to go home. Please phone rangers if you can assist in getting them home.
Double Trouble (insert Tay Swift "Trouble" melody) - Two male puppies were found roaming on Sims Street yesterday.
Very timid boys, no microchip can be found.
They are safe at the Pound, but if these are your dogs, please contact Ranger Services on 9083 1533.

SAFE Esperance has been extremely fortunate, especially at this time of year, to receive amazingly generous donations from ARC for our rescued animals. Costs of running a rescue are high and ever increasing, so to receive this wonderful gift of food for the animals is immense to us.
We are deeply grateful to ARC Companion Animal Rescue for donating these pallets of food and also, of course, the companies listed below who give generously to make this happen. Like all rescues at present, we are struggling to assist all the animals that find themselves in need of a sanctuary, with the rising costs of supporting them. THANK YOU ARC and the very generous companies that give to help our needy fur friends - we couldn't do it without you.

Our gorgeous litter of kittens with mum is still waiting for their new homes - you can find them listed on our website www.safe.org.au with profiles and one click to our application form - can you give them the great life they deserve?
ASSETS: Easy going, a little timid at first, affectionate, friendly, quiet, playful, confident and very sweet! Minnie has settled beautifully into foster care and is becoming more confident by the day.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Cuddles and naps are her very favourite thing, so much so that her foster carer calls her βVelcro Dogβ! She also loves to run on the beach and play tug with the other dog in her foster home, as well as play chase and wrestle.
ENDEARING FEATURES: Minnie has a beautiful gentle nature and just wants to be with her people. Sheβs great company and is always happy to give hugs when needed!
OTHER ANIMALS: Minnie loves the company of other friendly dogs who will run and play chase with her but doesnβt like dogs who get in her face initially, so needs gentle introduction. She plays with the cat in her foster home and sometimes chases so could possibly live with a very dog-savvy inside only cat who will tolerate her attention, but will need gentle, supervised introductions to start with.
GENERAL INFO: Minnie is a little anxious at times and will flinch at loud noises and sudden movements. She needs some training on her lead as sheβs eager to meet other dogs when out walking so pulls on the lead to be near them. Her housetraining is still a bit of a work in progress but sheβs doing really well at present. She isnβt a fan of being left alone and will dig in pot plants and find things around her to take back to her bed and chew. She will bark if she hears unfamiliar noises. Minnie travels well in the car and is learning some commands at present. Sheβs doing great with this and is very obedient and eager to learn.
ESSENTIALS for Minnie
** A dog-experienced, loving home where someone is there for most of the day on a permanent basis or can take her out with them. She does live with a full time worker and another dog but does struggle some days, being without her person and may be destructive.
** In her previous home and in foster she has lived with another dog and could do so again dependent on meet. Preferably a young dog around her size.
** Minnie would thrive with training and classes where she can socialize and learn new things in a safe and controlled environment.
** Minnie will need daily exercise β a good walk once a day will keep her happy and healthy.
** Minnie needs a fenced, secure yard with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore.
** Being a βVelcro Dogβ, Minnie needs to be allowed inside the home or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night (preferably on the bed!) and to be included as part of the family.
Minnie could go well with dog-savvy, gentle/calm children over 12 years of age who can read her signals, treat her gently and play and interact with her appropriately.
If Minnie sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and weβll be in touch soon.
MISTY (EC1228)
Female, Domestic Short Hair
8 months (as at 10.12.23)
NAME: Misty
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance as an owner surrender.
PERSONALITY: Friendly, playful and loving! Misty lost her tail due to an accident but it doesnβt affect her at all.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Misty likes to be around her people receiving attention and cuddles. She loves to play with her toys and enjoys climbing up on her scratching post to survey her kingdom!
OTHER ANIMALS: Misty gets on well with other friendly cats after gentle introduction. She could possibly live with a cat-savvy, friendly dog after gentle, supervised introductions.
ESSENTIALS for Misty:
** A loving home where sheβs given time initially to settle in and get comfortable, then gets plenty of attention but is treated gently. She would go well with cat-savvy, gentle children who will play and engage with her on a daily basis.
** Misty needs to be kept as an inside only cat or have access to a secure outside cat run.

He is dog social, untested with cats, and needs daily walks to keep him active and occupied. A fenced yard is a must, as he previously liked to take himself on adventures when he didn't get enough attention. He was loving training and is a quick learner.
π Zeus - He is a 6 month old Shar Pei mix male puppy, who is affectionate, playful and so friendly. He is great with his humans, and also great with children and other dogs, dependent on meet.
He can be reactive to other dogs while on leash, but as a young puppy, he is still learning and we are hoping his next carer can help him with this - SAFE support you the whole way! He is now stuck in kennels and struggling, he needs a lap to lay on and be cuddled.
If you can help with any of these animals, we would desperately love to hear from you! If you've ever considered fostering, now is the time we need you.

ESSENTIALS for Nilah:
** A loving home where sheβs given time initially to settle in and get comfortable, then gets plenty of attention but is treated gently. She would go well with cat-savvy, gentle older children who will play and engage with her on a daily basis and understand her shyness (she is overwhelmed by young children and will hide).
** Nilah needs to be kept as an inside only cat or have access to a secure outside cat run.

CARERS NEEDED
π Ruby (or Red as a loved nickname) is in kennels and we are needing to get her out.
She is very sweet and gentle, still young, and will need a carer who is home more often than not. Unfortunately her confidence is lacking, and she will need a carer to guide her in this scary world.
She is good with dogs, no aggression shown, but will bark at them if they are too much for her. A home with a gentle and calm dog will be best, and no young children please.
πββ¬ 6 week old kittens - Are very young and needing regular/daily handling and exposure to a household before they can be adopted. They will keep to themselves, and just curiously watch what your daily routine is, all they need is a laundry, catio or spare room to thrive. As kittens, they get adopted quickly, it should be a short-term stay!
Can be seperated if you cannot handle a whole litter.
πββ¬ 9 week old kittens - A litter in a local Animal Management Facility. They are shy but are slowly coming out of their shells, we are hoping to get them into a foster home while they're still very young, to allow them to watch what a regular day in a household looks like. As kittens, they get adopted quickly, it should be a short-term stay!
Can be seperate if you cannot handle a whole litter.
π Zeus - He is a 6 month old Shar Pei mix male puppy, who is affectionate, playful and so friendly. He is great with his humans, and also great with children and other dogs, dependent on meet.
He can be reactive to other dogs while on leash, but as a young puppy, he is still learning and we are hoping his next carer can help him with this - SAFE support you the whole way!

CARER FOUND
KITTENS AND MUMMA NEED QUIET FOSTER
Dae is needing a quiet home while she raises her bubs, until they're old enough for adoption.
Her current foster is heading away and we need a place for her to go as soon as possible.
She is protective, so she will need a home with no children or animals that will disturb her at this stage.
She is currently in an enclosed room, but we would like her to be able to stretch her legs in a whole house if possible
We are being asked to take on animals from local Animal Management Facilities, and we need your help!
TINKERBELLE
A lovely female mixed breed, who is only young but very friendly. She has been in a rural pound for an extended time and is very eager to move into a foster home.
She has lived with dogs previously, and can live with older children for now until we get to know her and possibly cats but not confirmed. She's the perfect foster dog! Can you take Tinkerbelle on?
PIPPA
A beautiful older female dog, this old soul is looking for a retirement home. She will need a foster home that allows us to assess her before she can find that. She can live with dogs and cats, but no children at this stage yet. If you're a single or couple, she would love to try at a new life with you in her older age.
If you can help with either of these deserving dogs, we'd love to hear from you as soon as possible!

FOSTER CARERS NEEDED
ATHENA
A young female Mastiff x, she is very friendly and loving but also needs to learn some gentle manners. She is a bit choosy in which dogs she socialises with, so a foster home with no other dog at this time would be best. Untested with cats.
She will need regular walks and playtime to keep from being bored, plus a fenced yard.
ROCKY
A young male Mastiff x, he is larger and bouncy, so no small children please. He is a lovely dog, but needs to learn some manners, as any young dog would. He is dog social, untested with cats, and needs daily walks to keep him active and occupied. A fenced yard is a must, as he previously liked to take himself on adventures when he didn't get enough attention.
