Day 2 Fundraising Update for Kaida — We Need You ❤️‍🩹

Because of your kindness, we’ve raised $628.51 toward our $4,000 goal in just two days. Every single dollar has brought Kaida closer to relief, and we are so incredibly thankful.

Here’s why this matters right now: if we can reach $3,000, we can schedule Kaida’s surgery. We’re already nearly one-third of the way there, but time is critical, and she is still living with daily pain, though we and her foster’s are managing that pain as best as possible.

Kaida deserves more than just getting by; she deserves to run, rest, and live without hurting. This surgery is her chance at a second shot at a pain-free life, and we cannot do this without you.

💛 FUNDRAISING UPDATE FOR KAIDA 💛

Because of you, today alone we’ve raised $462.51 across Facebook, PayPal, and Venmo. We cannot thank you enough for showing up for Kaida so quickly—every single dollar truly matters, and every act of kindness is felt.

That said, we still have about $4,000 left to raise to get Kaida the FHO surgery she desperately needs. We know that’s a huge number. It feels big to us too. But we also know what this surgery means: relief from constant pain and the chance for Kaida to live a comfortable, happy, mobile life.

You may remember this adorable duo we introduced to the rescue back on December 1st 💛🩶
Now officially named Griffon (orange tabby boy) and Kaida (dilute torti girl).

Shortly after intake, we noticed that Kaida had an unusual gait and appeared uncomfortable using her back end. We wasted no time getting her seen by Guardian Veterinary Care, hoping for answers—and unfortunately, the news was heartbreaking.

Kaida is likely suffering from hip dysplasia, with her pelvis sitting approximately 20–35 degrees out of normal alignment with her spine. This misalignment is the result of a fracture to her lower spine, consistent with either being stomped on or struck by a vehicle. No matter the cause, the outcome is the same: Kaida is in significant pain in both hind legs.

Since her diagnosis, we’ve been doing everything we can to keep her comfortable—pain medication, strict activity restriction, and close monitoring—while determining the best path forward.

Thanks to Guardian, a specialist was able to review Kaida’s case, and the recommendation at this time is for her to undergo FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery, which offers her the best chance at a pain-free, mobile life.

💔 The hard truth: This surgery was completely unexpected, and as a rescue, we cannot afford it without help. There is a large sliding scale of how costly the surgery may be, but we’re looking anywhere from $2,000-$4,500 range.

💫 2025 In Review 💫

Honestly, we think 2025 has been our best year yet…
We heavily ramped our community involvement. To name a few:
- Hosted our first online auction
- Partnered with Hazel’s House for a couple adoption events
- Had our first local adoption event in Boring
- Participated and had a parade float in the Sandy Mountain Days Festival Parade
- Participated in fundraising events involving kitten cuddles
- Hosted our first holiday bazaar with such great vendors

For what we did with the kitties this year ~
😼 57 intakes!!
😻 59 adoptions!!
😸 68 spays and neuters!!! Some of which were to help the community
😽 ending 2025 with 21 cats in our care, most of which are currently awaiting adoption

What do we anticipate 2026 to look like for us?
✨ focusing in on supporting the cats and kittens of Clackamas County first and then other counties when we’re able to
✨ more intakes & more adoptions
✨ continuing fundraising efforts
✨ continued support for AND from our community

We would love to double ALL of our figures for 2026 but can’t do it without YOUR help.

Hazel's House is always so kind to us 💗🐱

Not the most organized picture but….. a huge thank you for the wet and dry kitten food and the gastro dry food!!

We appreciate you always and this will be an immense help to us. Also remaining hopeful that the gastrointestinal diet will get some of our GI sensitive kitties on the fast track to healing their guts!
