✨ Friendly Thanksgiving Safety Reminder ✨
Not all holiday foods are pet-safe. Please keep these off your dogs’ and cats’ plates:

🚫 Turkey skin, bones, or fatty scraps
🚫 Stuffing (often contains onions, garlic, and spices that are toxic)
🚫 Onions, garlic, leeks, chives
🚫 Grapes or raisins
🚫 Chocolate or desserts with xylitol
🚫 Alcohol
🚫 Rich or buttery foods that can cause stomach upset or pancreatitis

✔️ Pet-safe options: small bits of plain cooked turkey, plain pumpkin, green beans, or carrots (no butter or seasoning).

Please do not use Companion Pet Clinic in Gresham.

We will not adopt one of our cats or kittens to you if you use them - we do not support their unethical practices and abuse of animals.
There is a reason they have “affordable prices.”
No cheap or low-cost price is worth jeapordizing the safety of an animal. Especially this clinic, with a track record of harming the voiceless.

And trust us when we say, we do check to see if you’re an active client with them when applying for adoption.

TWO CRITICAL KITTENS IN 24 HOURS

It’s been a very tough couple days for the rescue, and we’re reaching out to our community for help ❤️‍🩹

In the last 24 hours, we’ve had two unexpected medical emergencies: one with a kitten currently in our care and the other was a new intake this morning.
We need some help to cover the sudden costs.

🐾 First Emergency:
One of our 6-month-old teenage kittens, Sapphire, suddenly became very ill and needed an emergency vet visit, followed by an all-day stay for testing due to a possible intestinal blockage.
💸 Her care so far has cost around $700.
Fortunately, imaging suggests she may not have a blockage, but she is still not feeling well and continues to struggle to p**p. We are monitoring her closely and may need further treatment.

🐾 Second Emergency (This Morning): **graphic photo warning**
We took in a kitten with a degloved tail, an incredibly painful and traumatic injury. He (now named Stuart Little) was rushed to the vet and is currently undergoing a tail amputation surgery.
💸 His surgery is estimated between $651 – $1,030.

✨ Total unexpected medical costs in just 24 hours: $1,351 – $1,730.
For a small rescue like ours, this is a huge hit.

We never want to turn away animals in crisis, and we always strive to give them the medical care they urgently need — but right now, we can’t do it without you.

We’re still on the lookout for a few more awesome vendors to join our Holiday Bazaar — it’s going to be a jolly good time full of holiday cheer, shopping, and community spirit! 🎁🎅

🐾 Sweet News! Our rescue will also be hosting a holiday bake sale to help raise funds for our furry friends! We’re looking for bakers and treat-makers willing to donate some of their favorite holiday goodies. ❤️

Do you have a specialty treat you love to make this time of year — like Christmas cookies, pumpkin or banana bread, cupcakes, or other festive sweets? 🍪🧁 We’d love to feature your delicious creations at the bazaar!

Two weeks ago, something heartbreaking happened — and though we hesitated to share, it comes with a powerful reminder: never give up on your missing pets.

We had offered to help a family get their cat, Pedro, neutered through Salem Friends of Felines. On the morning of October 23rd, we loaded up the cats for their appointments — but when we arrived, Pedro’s kennel latch failed, and in a split second, he escaped. Despite our best efforts and the family rushing from Estacada to help, Pedro was gone.

For days, we searched, his family searched — posting on Facebook, Nextdoor, PawBoost, and every lost pet page we could find. Friends of Felines set traps and spread the word, but there was no sign of him. Still, we refused to lose hope.

Then, late on November 3rd, an email arrived: “Could this be Pedro?”
It was him. 💫

The kind family who spotted him set a trap, and by 9 p.m. last night, Pedro was safely caught. We rushed to Keizer, brought him home, and witnessed the most beautiful reunion with his overjoyed family.

Pedro will still get neutered soon — with a sturdier kennel this time! — but for now, we’re simply grateful he’s home safe.

To Pedro’s family: thank you for your grace and persistence.
To the finders and Friends of Felines: thank you for your kindness, resources, and unwavering support.

And to everyone still searching for their missing pets: please don’t give up hope. Microchip, share, search, and believe — happy endings do happen. ❤️
