Winter can be a hard time to place animals.
Happy Feet was the last of his herd and needed goat buddies. Large goats with big horns are the most difficult to find homes for.
Homes where they will be pets and not eaten.

Abraham and Shadow had to be moved immediately after their caretaker had to leave the property.

Thank you, Angel, for taking all three goats and giving them a safe, permanent home.
Your kindness and compassion are very appreciated. What lucky goats to have a new home with someone who is happy to have them!

Daffy Duck and Draco Malfoy's caretaker in Portland had a week left to rehome her ducks or face eviction. The new landlord decided ducks weren't allowed and gave the caretaker a two week notice.

We picked the Daffy and Draco up today, and they are settling in nicely. Welcome!

Our friends at Food Fight Grocery have been nominated for the Veg News 2025 awards. Food Fight is an all vegan grocery store in Portland. We are so lucky since not many cities have a vegan store to shop at.

Let's show our support by voting for Food Fight.

Sweetpea is doing well for a goat sent home for hospice care from OSU in March 2019. She was too old even then to have a mass removed. They gave her days or possibly weeks to live.

It's going on six years. Other than having to eat mainly soaked orchard grass pellets after losing most all her teeth, Sweetpea is going great.

Rosie came out of her house and flopped over for a belly rub for the first time since arriving a week ago. She is turning out to be a very nice pig.
Rosie was obviously well loved at her old home, but the landlord wanted her gone. It's hard to find a rental that allows pigs.

Thank you to our friend Margie (and volunteer at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary) for taking in Jabba and adding her to your flock. Jabba was the last hen left at her old home after the other hens died of old age. Jabba can live out her life with buddies and no chance of being eaten.

We appreciate people willing to adopt older animals. Thanks to everyone who contacted us about Jabba.

Rebecca from the .miniatures sanctuary drove over 2 hours in heavy rain yesterday from Eugene to deliver Rosie to us. Rosie had been left behind by renters, and the landlord wanted her gone.

Thank you to Misty from and Rebecca for saving Rosie. She will be fostered at Out to Pasture until springtime when her permanent home is ready at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary also in Estacada.

This rescue is an example of four sanctuaries working together. We are lucky to have a network of rescues and sanctuaries, making it possible to save more animals than anyone of us could do alone.
