Rosie came out of her house and flopped over for a belly rub for the first time since arriving a week ago. She is turning out to be a very nice pig.
Rosie was obviously well loved at her old home, but the landlord wanted her gone. It's hard to find a rental that allows pigs.

Thank you to our friend Margie (and volunteer at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary) for taking in Jabba and adding her to your flock. Jabba was the last hen left at her old home after the other hens died of old age. Jabba can live out her life with buddies and no chance of being eaten.

We appreciate people willing to adopt older animals. Thanks to everyone who contacted us about Jabba.

Rebecca from the .miniatures sanctuary drove over 2 hours in heavy rain yesterday from Eugene to deliver Rosie to us. Rosie had been left behind by renters, and the landlord wanted her gone.

Thank you to Misty from and Rebecca for saving Rosie. She will be fostered at Out to Pasture until springtime when her permanent home is ready at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary also in Estacada.

This rescue is an example of four sanctuaries working together. We are lucky to have a network of rescues and sanctuaries, making it possible to save more animals than anyone of us could do alone.

Two and a half years ago, Abby was abandoned and suffering from a shattered leg. The vet discovered that her joints never fused properly and put a metal pin in one leg. The other leg had atrophied, meaning she would never walk normally.

Not many people would adopt a pig with mobility issues. Stephanie and her husband got Abby through Jumas Farm and are giving her a wonderful life.

Abby now is very fit and strong. She can run, climb stairs, and walk on a leash. Abby is mostly an indoor pig and very happy.

Thank you to Stephanie and husband for turning around an animal's life. Without your help, Abby would have had a miserable existence. We are honored to know you.

End of year rescue! Three small goats and one mini donkey were left behind when their home was sold.

Thanks to donors, we were able to get vet care, including exams, vaccinations, hoof trims, and bioscreens. We also had a trailer to use to transport thanks to donors.

All four animals now have a new home at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary. Thank you for your compassion in adopting.

Here's to a better, kinder 2025!

We're not so jolly about holly. The holly farm down the road is no longer there but random holly bushes still appear. Holly is toxic to goats, llamas, donkeys, and other animals.

Meet Kyle, who, along with his neighbor Shawn, has rescued nearly 50 goats. Most of these goats have come through Out to Pasture over the last few years. Kyle has a large barn, and between them, a lot of acreage. We appreciate people like Shawn and Kyle who step up to provide a permanent home for rescue animals despite having other careers.

The full article on Kyle can be found at Omaha Magazine.

Brother/sister. Graham is neutered.
Located in the Portland area.

Help us find the best home for these goats. Home visit and references required.
They are pets and meant to be loved.
Not for eating or breeding.

The Thompsons have landed at their new home at . Thank you to our friends Leslie and Jacob for taking in Thompson and Thompson.
