Group class tonight. Busy working, didn’t get pictures except this one where we worked managing stairs and keeping the dogs at our pace.
All the dogs did fantastic. Rose, on the far right side, it’s only her 2nd group class. She was extremely reactive to other dogs and even people on leash. We only did 1 private lesson but I had her come and worked together one day, teaching mom how to manage that reactivity better. My gosh, what a huge improvement tonight. Good job Megan for working with Rose. She’ll only get better and better with consistent hard work.

Skyler is a Aussie/shepherd about 8 mos old, who comes to learn all the obedience with a focus on boundaries. She’s doing awesome.

Then we also have Piper a 3 yo Dalmatian. She had previous SMS training but is with us after her mom and dad divorced and now she needs a refresher and confidence. She’s doing so well.

This little mini Doxie is named Leia “Princess Leia”
She is the most adorable sweetest and happiest little pup. People say they think dachshunds are stubborn, but every single one that I’ve trained has been so smart and learned everything so well and she’s no exception. We just finished her training and graduated her to group classes.

Group class today was awesome.
We worked on heel in multiple exercises, even from a sitting position.
I enjoyed hearing all of the wins that various ones had with their dogs. We work on challenging things, but we want to be sure and focus on the positive as well.

Maya is a 1 year old Rottweiler who was a stray and rescued. She is unsure about some people but she trained very well on Day 1.

A foster or an adopter for a nine-year-old dog is needed ASAP. Somebody needs to give this dog a good rest of his life.

Senior dog alert!

9 year old Bandit was adopted from an animal shelter in Orlando on June 23 and on June 25 the adopter was standing in front of a store trying to give him away. Apparently, she has a history of doing this. You seriously can't make this stuff up. Someone was concerned enough about the dogs welfare to take him from her and then found out that everyone is full to the max and not taking dogs. After he called me last night begging for us to take this dog in, we relented, made some room for him thanks to our friends at Edgewater Animal Shelter and got him to safety. But here is the deal..they are full, we are full and this dog is 9 years old. To send him back to the shelter he came from put him at risk of it happening to him again, so he is safer with us. I really need to get him out of the shelter before I wear out my welcome with those very nice people at Edgewater AS. Did I mention he is 9 years old? Why is this happening??? He is a sweetie and very handsome. We don't know a whole lot about him but at his age, he is looking to see how has the softest dog bed.

A foster would be nice and an adopter would be nicer. Anyone???

We are happy to help a young widowed mom of 3 young children, 1,3 and 7 to train her 11 mos old standard poodle, Charlie. My heart goes out to her as she lost her husband tragically, the beginning of May and she had gotten this dog one month earlier.
I can only imagine the craziness in her household already and then adding on as she calls it rude puppy behavior. Charlie is super smart. He’s learning very fast. But he definitely has some rude puppy behavior that we’re working on along with just walking nice on the leash. So if we can alleviate this one area of stress for her, it makes my heart happy and hopefully hers too.

This week I’m late to posting the trainees…
This is Sassy Bear (black) and Tucker (grey) both young 5 mos old Yorkies. They are doing great in their training however Sassy is a little sassy and stubborn and so we’re working through that. Tucker was a little timid, but he came right out of his shell and trained very well the first day train.
