With the weather cooling down, it's a great time to start thinking about your community cats and how to keep them safe and warm this winter. Here is a guide to DIY winter shelters! HES will have these pre-made and available to the public in the coming weeks, as well.

A HOW TO for building simple community (feral) cat winter shelters!

Extras and Pro Tips:
-Line the opening of the hole with duct tape to prevent cats from chewing the edges
-Raise the cooler off the ground for added warmth
-Weigh the shelter down by putting something on top so it doesn’t blow away
-Place the cooler in a plastic tote. Cut a hole in the tote to line up with the cooler's hole for an extra layer of protection.

PetFix couldn't reach into communities that do not have transportation to Euclid without the help of our transport partners like . The "Fix it in the Farmland" program has helped many rural and Amish pet owners get their dogs and cats fixed over the years. We are so grateful.

Did you know that PetFix now offers surgical "onesies" for dogs as an alternative to the "cone"? If you have an upcoming appointment to get your dog fixed, feel free to ask our staff about it! We have them is all sizes too.
