Our boy Gus has some big news! 💙
After a year and a half at the shelter, Gus has finally found himself in a foster home — and he’s absolutely thrilled!
When Gus first arrived, he was in rough shape: covered in scabs, with overgrown nails, open wounds, and far too skinny. Despite it all, he was gentle, sweet, and patient — a truly gorgeous soul inside and out. 🐾
Over time, he became a staff and volunteer favorite. He’d go on walks with one of his favorite volunteers, but leaving the shelter terrified him. He had to be carried to the car because he was so unsure of the world beyond our walls. 💔 That’s when we knew — it was time to help him take the next step.
With the help of our friends at Cold Nose Companions, Gus completed a 6-week training course where he learned confidence, structure, and a little bit of trust in the big, scary world. 🦴✨
Now, Gus is settling into his foster home, learning what it means to relax on a comfy couch and enjoy some peace and quiet. He’s still a little wary of new things, but he’s making progress every single day. His foster’s cats are fascinated by him, and Gus? He couldn’t care less — he’s just happy to rest. 🐕💤
We’re so proud of him and so grateful to his foster for opening her heart and home. Gus is still available for adoption, and we’d love to see him finally find his forever family. ❤️
Stay tuned for more updates on Gus’s foster journey — this boy’s story is only getting better from here. 🌿
